Combining Uniforms, How to make a Fuku similar to this?

Request, Submission, or Review of Fanart. Again "fukufic" content preferred but not necessary

Do you think crossing other uniforms into Fuku Designs is a good idea?

This would make a nice Ranma/Creamy Mami crossover (check my avatar and you'll see that they would be great together).

Only thing I noticed is that Ranma's left hand seems to be a little smaller than the right hand.
And that's the bottom line 'cause Dumbledork said so.

If there were such a thing as the infamous "Hello-Kitty-Ken" this would be the result of such a dreadful technique!

I wonder what torturous training Ranma had to go through to learn it

None! a simple accident sent him to the world of Hello Kitty 40,000.

Hmm, back on topic, why not mix the good elements of both series uniforms?
The original had too much Egyptian in it. (helmets, various walls, you get the idea)
Naval Warrior Lord/Lady of Io.
Schizotechnician.
Thermonuclear Firebug.

I know exactly what you mean on the helmets. That design connection to the Pharoh headdress did give them an excuse to do location shoots and reuse Egyptian set elements made for movies without adding to the budget for the show. I really liked that episode with the visit to Cobol too. In the original series of cource.

But would the helmet have any influence what so ever on a Fuku?

The original Battlestar Galactica used a lot of things to save money. For example, the collar pins they used as the Galactica insignia is really officer's branch insignia for US Army Intelligence. They bought 'em off the shelf at a surplus store. I was enlisted in an Intel occupation field, so I have the enlisted version of that insignia on my old dress uniform coat to this day.

This web page has a number of pictures of various uniforms worn in the series; it shows Adama's uniform at the top, but if you scroll down, there are others too.

Not bad, but you're missing several elements. The first is the rows of seams across the tunic front. You can see them clearly on Starbuck, in the middle picture in the second row. You can also see them on Adama's uniform, in the lefthand picture in the second row.

The seams are because the front of the uniform tunics are quilted in horizontal strips.

This may be a better shot of the uniform.

Here's another shot of the jacket, just for kicks and giggles.

The second is the multiple buckles on the boots, which were motocross boots that were painted brown.

As for the gloves... There is a source.

One last thing, which may be too ambitious. The gold checkered trim would be used on the sailor flap, and the Galactica star insignia should be in the two back corners of the flap.

Here's a closeup of the trim, just in case you want to try it. This has the checkering on both sides of the solid stripe, but on the uniform collar, the checkering is only one one side of the stripe; the outside or bottom. In other words, the solid stripe is closest to the neck, and the checked stripe is outside that.

It may have errors but I'd rather have this Ranko helping face off aginst Cylons than anything in the new series.

Here's the Battlestar Senshi with a few upgrades, as suggested by Larry.

Alas, the last link of the collar braid was access denied.

Kinda makes me glad that Colonial Warriors wern't trained in Martial arts. I bet getting hit by those buckles on the boots hurts allot. I like this one Hey if anyone can figure out how to get spamville to modify the Superlaser on a Deathstar to make it change all clothing to Fuku instead of destroying things all these images could have an interesting use.

Now that looks good.

Oh, the braid can be seen at http://www.chrispappas.com/replicas/rc02.html

I was just trying to avoid the sales hype on the page it was made for.

A valiant effort, but the forces of consumerism will not be thwarted, it seems.

Here is an opposite number to the Imperial Senshi:
it needs some work - suggestions welcome.

As Ranma is a redhead this one was inevitable.

What she doesn't get the sensor hair ornaments? Auska and Rei always had to have them. Although I wonder could an Eva keep up with Ranma?

The Rebble Aliance Senshi Fuku feels a little out of perportion. It's like you were trying to keep the orange and white balance even though her legs are bare.
