Do you think crossing other uniforms into Fuku Designs is a good idea?

Do you think it would be possible to alter the furinkan uniform somehow to make it a blend between fuku and the classical look. Now that would be a challenge.
And that's the bottom line 'cause Dumbledork said so.

Highguard senshi:

It's missing the distinctive feature of the HG designs, other than the buckles, which is the top edge where the applique stripe cuts inward across the top of the chest. Also, the space between the vertical blue stripes is significantly narrower at the bottom than the top. The stripes should also be a little wider.

How well can that stripe at the top of the chest be seen with a bow?
I agree with the rest but think the first attempt has a good balance between the Red and the blue. There is less overall body area afterall.

If the outside edge of the vertical stripes are moved closer to the shoulders and arm openings, it can be done. The idea is to catch the flavor of the original.

If you look at the picture of the jacket, the top edge of the horizontal stripe follows the seam that divides the shoulder panels from the front panels. In the fuku, the collar plunges, where the HG jacket has a high collar. So for the fuku, the stripe would be above the level of the bow, and would be divided by the collar and partly covered by the sailor flap.

We are talking something a little more like this, although I made it just a little too narrow at the bottom:

I can see what you are getting at with the stripes and having them slope outwords more. But increasing their thickness ends up leaving too little red to let the buckles for the flap still have a balance.

Basically what I'm saying is I think there may have to be a comprimise between the two designs. Keeping the lines thin maybe or letting them be a smidge straiter than even Captain Hunt's uniform just to allow for a better balance.

I really like it. Although I am now wondering what would happen in a sparing session between High-Guard Ranko and Captain Dylan Hunt.

Dylan did grow up on a high gravity world afterall and has repetedly shown creativity in combat.

Sailor Furinkan.

This is the Keiki who's going to kick some Youma butt.

Close up of Ranma's earring.

Alas Principal Kuno seems to have had a hand in designing the uniform.

Is that a Pineapple in the middle of the chest bow too? I guess trying to do a Blue-greenish Jumpper with White undershirt would have still been a bit unappealing even just from a pure colors standpoint when making it a Fuku. I could imagine Principal Coconuts pushing for a sandy gold tone or grass skirt.

Yep, it is a pineapple in the chest bow.

Well, as for Principal Coconuts, it could be based on the gym outfit and be a yellow top and red bloomers/skirt.

The colour of the uniform seems to change depending on what source picture you use. However, here is a version of the uniform with a blue/green tint.

Actually I had planned on it having a version of the white undershirt:

I stand corrected it doesn't look bad at all. Any chance at getting Akane to model this one though. Sticking Ranma into the Fuku with Furinkan Colors just doesn't feel right for some reason.

I'd say to make the bow decoration a big pineapple, without the red disk. As for the undershirt, it needs the collar to look right. The short, puffy sleeves would also add to the effect.

The other design features that set the Furinkan uniform apart are the high waist - just below the bustline - and baggy, unflattering skirt. On the front, the jumper has a rounded neckline.

Around back, the jumper has a v-shaped plunging back that goes down to a medium sized bow, which is placed on the high waistline.

All that is for the summer uniform, which is worn without the jacket.

The winter uniform jumper is much the same, except made of heavier material and with a squared-off neckline on the front. The blouse is also the same, except it has long puffy sleeves.

The winter uniform has a short jacket that may or may not be worn with it, which is what I guess you tried to include in the fuku design, but it's really the least important element, since it's not often seen in the manga.
