Hence why I kept it secret... and then forgot about it.

Sure, it's a four year-old sketch. But I just scanned it again, today, and I'll see if I can get around to giving it a 'proper' coloring (I usually only do the simple flood-fill colorings for test pictures, most of the time.)

To be honest, I can't remember if I'm the one who did that coloring job, but it does look like it.

No guarantees, though. I've got two other character test sketches I may color, before it in the queue. And I'm going to see if I can get away with using The GIMP and my Graphire tablet together on this mediocre laptop...

I think it's a better coloring and shading.
Only problem I see is that Misako's hair is a bit too dark.

I like the shading on the hair but the light on their faces.. Was someone outside of the scene and shining flashlights on their mouths? The rest of the shading doesn't seem to show a reason why their mouths would be light like that.

Two things to note... I agree with Spokavriel about their faces and e.g. the blond's left arm being shadowed inconsistently.

One other thing (something I have been found guilty of as well) teetering on the edge of being possible is about the blond's pose: her head might be turned too far to her left. I tried it in front of a mirror and I don't think I managed to turn my head that far. Then again, I'm pretty stiff and might be wrong about that point.

The pose is doable. I just don't know why someone would turn that way and wink the eye nearer the shoulder. It makes it almost impossible to see the reaction of the person Ukyo's sticking her tongue out at.

The facial coloring looks odd both because I tried to give them a more pale skin tone (as per the story) and because using IrfanView's Auto Adjust Colors feature and then converting it to JPEG probably didn't help. (Or with the brown hair, either.) I just don't have an optimal shade-tone picked out to go with that pale a skin tone, yet. ^_^;

I can't remember what I was thinking when I originally created the character test sketch, of course. I probably modeled it on one or more poses I'd originally seen from other characters. It was really only meant to experiment with the characters (though we never discussed what kind of clothing they would wear at the time, so...)

I actually ended up using my old faithful PhotoFinish setup on one of my Win98 towers.
