Seriously, the term "World Music" must have been invented to describe this tune.

Yep, John Farnham played there, too.

Anime and music can be an - interesting - combination.

Girls und Panzer / Katyusha
Kill la Kill / Wicked (Loathing)
Princess Tutu / Chickeneers
Many Anime / We Want You
Steven Universe / Everyone is Gay
Utena / First We Take Manhattan

Sometimes you don't really understand an anime until you've seen what happens in the AMVs

An oldie... But still fun to watch

Gah! I almost died watching it, hypnoztized into immobility!
So, so long!
Still, it's cool they included Samurai Jack :D

Anyways... Here's something I've accumulated during the years. These AMVs predate YouTube so I stuffed them into my home server under my table:

Ranma + ? (5Mb). The song is so recognizable -- too bad I stink at remembering names. "My heart in set on you / to my heart I must be true"

FLCL + Mission Impossible (19 Mb)

Sailor Moon + Moondance - Nightwish (53 Mb)

Slayers + "Hangover the morning after" (5 Mb) - "Remember, overindulgence in alcohol hits you not in the liver but in the wallet". A singer emulating the Russian/Ukrainian lingo of Odessa (on an unrelated note it's what we strive for when writing Ukyou in Russian: she's from Osaka as well!). As for the words you should only really know one: "horilka" is Ukrainian for "vodka/hooch". :p Yo'll learn it, I guarantee that :D

misc. Ghibli + The Mummer's Dance by Loreena McKennett (63 Mb)

I don't know how would this translate, but... This song fits Katsuragi Misato so well! NGE + "She walks her life laughing" by Time Machine (11 Mb)

I tried searching for English translation but the only I found was Google Translate faeces, so I translated the song myself:

She walks her life laughing.
She is light like wind. Nowhere
would she falter.
Her tried method of dealing with problems
Is like they aren't there:
She sees sunshine in everything!

She walks her life laughing.
Meeting and biding farewells, never feeling sad
Of goodbyes being easy and meetings being fleeting.
And the new faces hyrry to blur
Into a fuzzy circle of
Sort of friends.

She walks her life laughing.
At parties she feels at home, like everything is familiar.
Luck is with her, her life is successful.
And everyone without exception is following her
With their eyes.

Never noticing how cries at nights

She who walks her life laughing...

NGE + "Jeanne" by Falco (29 Mb). The song is in German, I found an English translation here but I can't tell how truthful it is (have to find something to read in German and finally learn it, I still have school basics, dammit).

Gundam(?) + ? (67 Mb) Again, the song is unfamiliar to me but the emotional charge of this amv is so powerful. In war, there are no winners, "I am the great white hunter / Man to man, soldier to soldier, ashes to ashes".

If you saw any of these on YouTube, let me know! :D

I’ll need to look into your links when I have my PC up again.

A few older ranma AMV’s that stuck with me:

I Would Walk 500 Miles - https://youtu.be/IkeuzElAIDA
I do recall a clip on Akane, played on Roxettes’ Little Bit Dangerous’. Cant find it on Youtube tho.
Mortal Kombat is on there tho: https://youtu.be/ZpAbb-BYMVQ

The Grease/Ranma one I've seen before.
The FLCL one while pretty well done I have not seen. Then again. FLCL never really could interest me that much.
Moondance was unknown to me too. Well put together.
Slayers... that's a looooong time since I watched that :) Never seen that vid tho. Holika=Wodka... Now that vid starts making sense
The Ghibli one didn't really catch me with it's music choice. But that's probably me.
The NGE one reminded me of this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2DGJGDMMgjY

Also an older one: Gundam Wing - Kryptonite: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2DGJGDMMgjY

It's "You're The One That I Want" from the movie "Grease". A group of Swedish soldiers made their own video of "Greased Lightning", which is also from "Grease".

Not bad, and i'm fairly sure i've seen it on youtube, cant find it when i look though.

Sailor Moon + Moondance - Nightwish (53 Mb)

Old favorite of mine. How i found out Nightwish existed.

NGE + "She walks her life laughing" by Time Machine

Mmm not bad.

The song is in German, I found an English translation here but I can't tell how truthful it is (have to find something to read in German and finally learn it, I still have school basics, dammit).

Translation seems legit, though i can't say my German is great, but since it's related to Swedish, that helps a bit at least.

Gundam(?) + ? (67 Mb) Again, the song is unfamiliar to me but the emotional charge of this amv is so powerful. In war, there are no winners, "I am the great white hunter / Man to man, soldier to soldier, ashes to ashes".

Already have that one as well. :D
My file names the song as "10th man down".
And i wish the sentiment wasn't so relevant.

#####
I Would Walk 500 Miles

Good one. Have it.

Mortal Kombat is on there tho

Huh, now i have THREE MK/Ranma amvs then. :P

Also an older one: Gundam Wing - Kryptonite: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2DGJGDMMgjY

Wrong link.

Was it this one you meant:

The suite is related to a 1401 that was decommissioned in 1971.

Edit:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F22DCvJ24Eg — The Marble Machine tune played live.
Sounds good; to me, anyway.
