As if 2020 wasn't hitting hard enough...

I found out that both co-creators of the character of Scooby-Doo are dead and gone as of today. Ken Spears passed away last Friday due to complications from dementia, and Joe Ruby of natural causes three months ago. For crying out loud, can't the year just end already?! :(

Not going to make a new thread for this one, since we've had enough of those this year already: David Prowse, best known as he who donned Darth Vader's armor, has passed away at the age of 85.

Immensely annoyed at myself for missing this one, since as a baseball enthusiast and former Michigan resident, this one kind of impacts me directly: "Mr. Tiger" Al Kaline, who spent 67 years with the Detroit Tigers in some capacity or another, died back in April of unknown causes. He was 85.

From about 1992-93 until I left Michigan in 2007, I followed the Tigers closely and watched/listened to their broadcasts wherever possible (even got to attend a handful of games). When I started watching the games on TV Kaline was working with George Kell, so I grew up listening to their commentary.

On a less personal note, Olivia de Havilland passed away peacefully back in July at the age of 104. At the time of her death, she was one of the few from the Golden Age of Hollywood who was still around; she's best known for her role of Melanie Wilkes in Gone With the Wind.
