Combining Uniforms, How to make a Fuku similar to this?

After seeing the pictures of the Furinkan schol uniforms again I still won't change my opinion. They are ugly as hell. I don't know any other manga wit school uniforms as ugly as those.

Well, yeah. It's mostly the baggy skirt. When you add the jacket to it, it pretty much takes away any feminine appeal the girl wearing it might have. It was obviously designed to help keep the guys' minds on schoolwork instead of the girls' figures.

At that, the way Furinkan uniforms are done is a lot closer to reality than most anime girls' fuku. Jackets and sweaters tend to be loose-fitting, and the skirts are knee length and unflattering. The kids try to make them a little more attractive by rolling up the waist to shorten them, but that only goes so far.

Here's a web site with a video that shows a lot of different school uniforms and what the girls do to customize them without breaking the rules outright. They can't do much to the uniform itself, but they have some latitude with shoes and socks. Raising the hemline is the most common thing they do.

So that would be Navy Blue jacket with red piping, Brass buttons all the mettals on it, brighter (almost normal but seems bright in comparison) blue pants, white accents such as Hat Gloves and belt. Before taking into account Rank etc.

I figured the Coldstream Guard would be an appropriately titled regiment for Ranma.

I'd say to make the bow decoration a big pineapple, without the red disk. As for the undershirt, it needs the collar to look right. The short, puffy sleeves would also add to the effect.

No Busbys or Hats. Because they have to be over large to fit ranma's hair.

The Marines Fuku looks good but shouldn't the torso be a darker shade of blue? I mean the Dress blues Jacket is almost black(can usually only be certain of the difference because of actual black being enameled in some of the metals/or in ribbons) and it would help the bows and skirt stand out better.
