Re: Art of Love; Art of Death (Nanoha fic)

I've been waiting for this for a while. :D I guess the TSAB now knows exactly where the Suvota got Pluto from (and I was expecting flying nuclear death-crowbars :P ). What I want to know is, where did the Americans get Stonehenge? It seems unlikely that the TSAB would not only give them the AeC...

Re: Puella Magi Madoka Magica

There are rumours of a second season, so your wish to see more of Homura may well be granted. I'd say 'pray to Gen Urobuchi,' but given that he himself may well be a lovecraftian horror, that might result in you growing gills, so play it save and don't. :P

Re: Puella Magi Madoka Magica

My opinion on this series is much the same as my opinion on Evangelion. I adore the characters (Asuka aside) enough to want to read fanfics about them, but I despise both the series and Gen Urobuchi for what it/he puts them through. I especially don't get how anyone can consider the ending to be ha...

Puella Magi Madoka Magica

So, has anybody else been watching this? If so, what are your opinions? From what I've seen, it appears to be a binary state whether you like it or not. A lot of the people I've discussed it with really didn't like the dark atmosphere, and I admit I didn't find it particularly pleasant either, even ...

Re: Is Japan done for by the todays earthquake?

What I was afraid of. We got a Three Mile Island in course right now. I really hope they get that under control fast. It's really, really not an absolutely critical problem. I mean, look, there's been what appears to be a hydrogen explosion at the affected reactor now. That's bad, but it's not 'OMG...

Re: Bad Neighbours

Unify? Heaven forbid! I just want 'em all shooting in the same direction. ;) You could probably manage most of them shooting in the same direction at once. Subject to caveats, like Russia backstabbing China, New Mercia backstabbing Albion while the EU isn't capable of doing anything about it, Korea...

Re: Bad Neighbours

Ahhhh, so the arm is how it works in the Sphere FTL system, but geographically speaking they're pretty close? Guess we'd best hope the turians don't realize there are different human factions and keep attacking 'em indiscriminately, then - that ought to get 'em workin' together. The turians are, af...

Re: Bad Neighbours

One might, if they weren't expected to follow legal codes you never had a say in and obey a Council of three people whose orders you, again, never have a say in... (And who get all pissy when you don't hang on their every word) That's why the post-war situation will be interesting. Huh, really? I k...

Re: Bad Neighbours

You can't violate laws that don't apply to you. ^_^ Yeah, but they start becoming a problem when galactic 'polite society' expects you to join their debating club as a matter of course. I dunno about that - wouldn't the Council run into the same logistical problems the Core did? It's a lot easier t...

Re: Bad Neighbours

Though it might get replaced... if they join the Citadel Council, which... well, I dunno, but I don't really see them casually deciding 'okay, let's become juniour members now!' Postwar's gonna look more like humans as a separate bloc that maintains relations with the Council, but doesn't accept th...

Re: Bad Neighbours

[puts away his long prepared "MOAR!" motivator] Yay :D And right when I was ready to despair :) I see my timing is perfect as always. So in theory they could jump out to there, but unless they wanted to risk ceasing to exist, they'd have to do a serious exploratory mission and it'd ...

Re: Bad Neighbours

Okay, I have to note that I like Song. He's fun. (Though my mental image of him is stubbornly adhering to 'Armstrong, from Full Metal Alchemist') That's... not a bad image for an Atlas template, actually. They're just that way naturally, not through training. In this case, obviously, he's Chinese, ...

Re: Bad Neighbours

Rejoice, for I am alive. Just very slow. Thanks to Norseman, who I don't think anybody on this board knows, for beta reading this chapter; one beta reader out of two isn't bad! Bad Neighbours Chapter Seven Mir Planetary Defence Command was an unduly impressive title that brought to mind hollowed out...
