Kuonji Ukyo

It's the cute fiancee. But is she more than just cute!? (A note: I'd like to avoid arguments as much as possible, so I'd like to say that it doesn't matter how or why you rate this character the way you do. This isn't meant to prove anything to anyone or change anyone's minds about anything. Obvious...

Re: What qualifications/conditions grant the title "princess?"

That's another thing. Many of the fictional (and perhaps some non-fictional) stories often use the line of succession as a plot device, and a time or two the line was awfully long. At what point does one draw the, well, line in that line of succession, in that someone is just too distantly related t...

What qualifications/conditions grant the title "princess?"

I'm not too familiar with how family relation and/or social status allows this or that title, in this case a princess. Is it only the daughter(s) of a queen? Are cousins and/or nieces of the ruling monarch or their children included? What about another position of high peerage, such as being the dau...

Re: Heaven's no good?

But would iron chariots or scythes come first? Outside of the bible, I can't say I recall of any other accounts of iron chariots being used. When and where were they used, if there's more?

Re: Micheal Bay Changing Origins of Ninja Turtles.

Turtles in a half probe? I can totally see a controversy about a gay agenda being behind the movie. XD;;

Re: Ancient accomplishments: who takes credit?

Speaking of Da Vinci, that's sort of what I'm suggesting with the "smarter than we give them credit for" comment I made. By that, I'm referring to a recent theory where the image on the Shroud of Turin is hypothesized to be the earliest use of photography, using himself as a model. Althoug...

Ancient accomplishments: who takes credit?

Ancient aliens were mentioned in another topic, and I usually hear them mentioned (along with ancient astronauts) when some people are pushing theories about how people accomplished and/or understood various things that were done way back when. But my question is: is it really more of a stretch to s...

How "popular" is Toyotama-hime/Otohime?

I tried to find out how many shrines are devoted to this kami (even if she's not the only one being devoted to), but I didn't have much luck aside from finding one specific shrine that did. Another problem is that I don't know if people can offer prayers to any kami at a given shrine; and, if so, ho...

Re: Stopping time

Now that I think about it... What if she doesn't manipulate time using third-dimensional rules? What if it's four-dimensional (whatever that might entail), whether its effects take precedence on the third-dimension or imposes upon it? (I suddenly wondered since the Door of Time is in the fourth dime...

Re: Heaven's no good?

I think I remember something else about that somewhere... Where it basically said that God worked through his son.

But I couldn't say if I'm remembering it right.

Re: Stopping time

Yeah, I'm mostly interested in the physics, with the hope of understanding at least a bit of it. It's not so important regarding the Sailor Moon universe itself but, say, if I wanted to mesh it better with another series' universe that's more faithful to the realistic side of things.

Re: America is getting better?

I'll just say: one, cell phones aren't created equal, and that goes for their prices; two, in this day and age cell phones are very convenient, and whether you're poor or homeless (or both) they're bound to be useful; and three, one and two can easily make cell phones a high priority, as opposed to ...

Re: New crossover series for Ranma 1/2

Well, Fairy Tail has a rather linear storyline, and I personally find it difficult to find a place to fit Ranma so that his presence actually has some kind of impact, rather than just doing whatever while the status quo in the universe remains the same. Even before I see such a crossover, I'm expect...

Re: Things you don't care for in Ranma/SM fan-fiction: Part One

Hmmmm... You know, I find it hard to compare the sailor senshi to martial artists in Ranma 1/2, not just because they're in different leagues, power-wise, but what they do is on a different scale, too. For instance, a sailor senshi's purpose is to protect a celestial object, like a moon or planet. T...
