I'd personally like to nominate Sephiroth from FFVII for this category of Villain. Not only was he almost always several steps ahead of Cloud and co, he also manipulated Cloud into helping him. And he actually succeeded in his goal of summoning Meteor, even if it was subsequently destroyed by the l...

I'm not even sure it belongs on that part of the list. Furinkan had its moments, but the kind of thing they are talking about wasn't an everyday thing. Most of the time it was normal, boring schoolday stuff, which is why Ranma has his reputation for sleeping in class. Heck, even the daily fights Ak...

Re: Furinkan High ranked worst school in the mangaverse

Personally, I disagree with Furinkan being first. Kyokujitu High, better known as 'Yousai Gakuen' (the Fortress School) from Shin'ichi Hiromoto's "Fortified School" is a lot worse. As bad as Furinkan is, at least the teachers there don't have the right to kill you for forgetting your homew...

Could segue into Evangelion with the 'messenger of destruction theme'. From what I gather a Jade functions like an activation item? Or somehow triggers an ascension of sorts? Is it some kind of evolutionary advancement thing or something. If it relies on the holder to be a unique entity (race wise)...

La Blue Girl doesn't hold a candle in badness to Violence Jack. VJ is hailed as a cult anime, but I really fail to see why. The so called 'character depth', is just an excuse to show completely gratuitious and sickening violence, and the art isn't even on par with Devilman. Go Nagai has failed me. A...

You'd have to play the game to understand the base of the idea, but the way I was playing on it was that it was implied that the Ginzuishou in Usagi's possession is one of the Jades that supposedly can give rise to a new Rudra. As for what a Rudra is... the best way to describe it is 'a herald of Ap...

There's ALREADY a practitioner of Martial Arts Fighting Games in the Genshiken. Namely, Kohsaka.
Although to be fair, he's a monster at any videogame, from Puyo Puyo to Guilty Gear XX. :D

If we go by games with anime, Indalecio in Star Ocean 2 will probably rank pretty damn high. The only reason why he 'lost' in the end was because of an incredibly convenient plot device that stopped his Crest of Annihilation, but still managed to wipe Energy Nede out as retaliation. And for games in...

I did some quick googling on what furyoku and oversoul are, but I get the feeling we're talking of an active and not a passive ability/suspectibility. If this were an active skill, it feels like an unjustified boost in power for Ranma without apparent drawbacks, and before someone could challenge R...

You could always go the Shaman King way. While the series tended to be a bit too stupid at times, the concepts of furyoku and Oversoul were neat...

Yes, yes, I see all the references. I also still recall the references to Emeralda having human DNA during the Zeboim flashbacks. Sooo... which one of them is correct? Seriously, if the game says she has human DNA, then it stands to reason she's at least partly organic. Machines, even nanites...

A lot of fanfics take the theory that this is all a result of Ranma, though. I guess one explanation is that he actually reqrote history so all the flashbacks are equally odd...Actually, I think I remember one where it was actually /AKane/ who was the trigger...or something. My personal theory is t...

Actually, it wasn't the DNA that was damaged per se... it was specifically the population's ability to procreate. If I recall, the pollution caused by war made the entirety of the population infertile, to the point that not even artificial insemination worked. Hence why she was created - to give man...

Actually, if I recall, Chaos was sealed in the Cauldron of Stars, meaning that technically he's part of every single star in the Universe, including the Sun. So yeah, Metallia could very easily have come from the Sun, regardless of incarnation.
Just a random thought.

I'd also argue that Ranma's life became totally messy AFTER Jusenkyou. So it could well be that it's not so much Ranma who's the nexus for Nerima's chaos, but his curse that draws it. Fact is, before the curse, most of Ranma's trouble was caused by Genma, not by him. Ryoga was the notable exception,...
