I'm wondering how Laira ended up with maps of the Hogwarts grounds and perhaps the internal layout as well. I mean it's not part of the countryside it's in an out of phase section of reality. But there it was at the start of the planning. And that is probably the way all the areas were at least known of. But thinking about it now it's almost like Laira is one upping the Marauder's Map that shows up in later stories because even though it wasn't detailed it did hint it could easily show anyone's locations on a global scale.

One thing I am having trouble understanding in the rewrite is Lina's temper, it seems just as bad as before even if her reactions are a little calmer. Yet the original explanation for the temper was the merging of her three personalities from at least two past lives with the current one. 1.)Considering this Ranma seems to almost given up on his past life, 2.)not really driven to do martial arts, 3.)not really fighting being a girl or even 4.)shammed by seeing other girls naked this time in the bath. Add to it the 5.)weaker connection to Nodoka and such due to him realizing she treats him badly in both lives while spoiling Sakura in every way Nodoka failed to treat him. 6.)Is the explanation for the behavior now just Lina's past life influence, or is some hidden depths of Ranma more angry about being born a girl then we have seen in the rewrite?

1.) When you really put it into perspective, why would Ranma constantly lament the loss of her previous life? Sure, there are moments when she did/does miss it, but there's no real reason to dwell on it when there's nothing that could be done to fix it. It's something that would make sense right after being reborn, but after 11 -- almost 12 -- years, why would Ranma still resent it?

2.) Ranma still does like martial arts, but there's no reason for her to make it her life since she's no longer the heir to a school or has a future that basically revolves around it. Despite not being fully driven, she still hates the thought of losing in a fight, and she does take it seriously if she has to. It's just that she doesn't need to train as much due to her 'Masu physiology boosts'. She also has sorcery and her studying under Washu to take into account. Her interest in training in martial arts may have diminished some, but that doesn't mean that she has given up or anything.

3.) What would she be fighting against? It's not like she constantly finds herself outright acting girlie or anything. If you're talking about her not really having a problem about wearing feminine clothes or similar, then I don't really see why there's a problem. To Ranma, those clothes are just that... clothes. Why should she worry about what she wears as long as she has clothes on? Nobody's going to say anything about it to her, so why should she care. One of Ranma's many traits in the series is the ability to adapt and easily fit into a role, and she has managed to adapt to this new life. One of my main issues in the previous version of the story was to overplay Ranma hating her new life EVEN AFTER 11 years when there was no reason to.

4.) Why would she be? She's been a girl for 11 years, and they don't have anything that she's never seen before. Besides, she's lived at the Masaki house for nine of those 11 years.

5.) New life and new family. It makes sense that the connection would be weaker.

6.) It'd due to some past life interference from the Lina Inverse side. While it doesn't have an incredibly huge affect on Ranma most of the time, there are still moments when it happens and can lead to issues.

Even the original drive to become male doesn't seem to exist, along with accepting she is a child this Lina doesn't seem to care about being a girl much at all. While being honestly interested in Science is nice I did think the driving goal of Ranma having to invent the technology to turn herself back male was a nice touch in the original story and I am not really sure if it would apply here?

Again, why would she truly worry about it? Being a girl isn't causing her any problems, there aren't people expecting her to return to male, nor are there circumstances that require it. Constantly worrying about her gender or being angry about it would get her nowhere when there's really no reason why she should. I also don't see why she wouldn't accept being a child. As a child, she was able to get away with things that she normally wouldn't if she were older. Nobody expected her to really do anything either, so that meant she could goof off without really caring. Why shouldn't that be something for her to take advantage of?

Only other issue seems to be how the students constantly said to fear Lina yet at least the slytherins seem to go out their way to provoke her as well.

There's not many who still actively try to provoke her. Most really would stay away.

Started off with Flint touching a first year girl in places she didn't want to be touched.

To be fair, he didn't know that scratching her behind the ear would cause that kind of reaction, and so was shocked.

Yet only Lina seemed to get yelled at about that incident despite he was at least what a 5th year male student picking on a first year girl?

I'd say blowing a rather large hole in the wall with just a look and scaring said 5th year senseless, as well as having caused a bunch of other problems in the last week were much worse than a little scratching behind the ear. I could always include mention of how Flint got in a little trouble as well, but I find it unnecessary.

Dumbledore in this story didn't really have any special reason be weary of Ranma to start with

She's showed herself to be quite powerful for someone her age, with powers and abilities vastly different than anybody else he knows. Why shouldn't he be wary of her when she obviously has a lot of power that would allow her to tear up the school while hardly lifting a finger? Power can easily corrupt people, and he'd want to keep an eye on that and try to keep her in line.

I can understand punishing Lina for most her actions, she in very least was very destructive towards the castle but ignoring the people go around touching her, teasing her, destroying her paper work etc and only looking at the violent reaction seems a bit off.

Ranma's mostly only been teased while in the dorm or away from the eyes of teachers, so why would they get in trouble? It's not like Ranma's going to go and cry to the teachers about being teased or talked about. Destroying the paperwork was also an accident, and it was easily fixed with a bit of magic.

As for future things to have Ranma work on I think a way hurt or drive off Xelos be a fair goal.

Not an easy task to drive off an incredibly powerful Mazoku... especially Xellos. If it was, Lina Inverse would have gotten him to leave her alone long ago.

Even though Hogwarts is 'out of phase', it is still located in the area. Hogwarts may also be unplottable to maps, and unseen by human technology, but Laira is an incredibly advanced computer unit. The hiding charms/magic that the wizarding world uses is capable of keeping technology from finding them out... to a certain extent.
