1. While the credo of a martial artist and the credo of a senshi may be similar, that hardly means he need either work with them, or be one to do the job.
True enough, but Akana does have her memories of wanting to honor the Senshi code which now falls to Ranma, since he's her reincarnation. It's a spot where her intentions are good to the grand scheme of things, but are slightly selfish in nature. She does point out that he doesnt have to be involved with the Senshi as a whole if he chooses not to.
2. Setsuna might be defeating her own agenda by involving herself. If Ranma is really as tired as indicated of magic and manipulation in his life, learning his councilor is a senshi might well backfire on her.
That it might very will indeed.
