(an old idea, but more fleshed out this time; Thanks to Pale Wolf for the previous discussion).
Crossover/fusion of SM and In Nomine.
Backround:
Prior to the Fall, Archangel of Dreams (Blandine) and the Archangel of Fear (Beleth) embarked on a project to inspire the evolving species of mankind. Blandine created a mythical kingdom with the Moon as its seat of power -- the Silver Millenium. Beleth created the antogonist with which the Silver Millenium would stand against -- the Kingdom of Earth. Glimpses of these two kingdoms could be seen when men dream, and the interaction between them would hopefully teach man to overcome "earthly desires" and strive for something "higher".
(note: the Silver Millenium and the Earth Kingdom are as real as the various other pantheons: Greek [which the Silver Millenium had forged cultural ties with], Norse, Hindu, Celtic, Amerindian, etc.; they exist in the "Marches", which both Blandine and Beleth oversee)
After the Fall and Beleth becoming Princess of Nightmares, the relationship between the two Kingdoms deteriorated. While the two kingdoms were "designed" to oppose one another, after the Fall things went positively cold. Blandine and Beleth, the universe's first lovers, split apart with Beleth hating Blandine with every fiber of her being.
A stelemate between the two remained until the Purification Crusade. Uriel, Archangel of Purity and commander of the Host, declared genocide on the ethereal spirits (particularly the gods and any spirit that allied itself with Hell). Uriel first went against the spirits and gods on earth and the Far Marches (creatures like dragons became extinct, and nearly all pantheons were destroyed). After he had "cleansed" the earth and Far Marches, he turned his sights to the Silver Millenium (which was within Blandine's realm). Luckily, Queen Serenity had fortified the Moon (with a "Dream Caul" -- details to be put in the fic). Beryl, sensing opportunity, made a deal with Uriel -- Beryl will give Uriel's troops access to her earthly tether to the moon (one she used to send ambassadors to Serenity), as long as Uriel makes sure the Silver Millenium is destroed thoroughly. She'd even let Uriel use Youma troops.
Uriel's troops and the Youma used the tether and got the drop on the Moon Kingdom. Serenity used the last of her power to send her daughters to the future, trap Metallia in Limbo, yadayadayda.
Uriel was called to the Seraphim council to answer for her actions. Since the battle occurted in Blandine's realm, millions of humans were sent to Nightmare. (Uriel's trial can be read in book "Heaven and Hell" by Steve Jackson games). In particular, Blandine was livid, but Uriel was unfazed. Before Uriel could be judged, God recalled him to the higher heavens and he was never seen again. The Seraphim Council declared the Purification Crusade over, but mandated that any spirit that enters earth be terminated immediately, no questions.
Meanwhile, the sruving spirits nearly all allied with Hell, in particular, Beleth. Beleth offered protection from Heaven in exchange for nothing. If they could work for her (terrorizing dreaming humans), then they'd also get treated like paid servants. However, even Hell did not want the spirits to be messing around with humans on earth, and thus kept them on a tight leash.
Fast forward to the present.
The Kami made a deal with Nybbas, Demon Prince of the Media, who was the rising power of post World War II Japan. They would be allowed to have a few worshipper, in return the spirits would do favors for the him as well as keep angels out of Japan. Nybbas agreed. What Nybbas did not know (nor supposedly Beleth) was that the spirits also made a deal with Marc, Archangel of Trade. Angels of Trade (the most numerous in Japan) won't slay the Kami they'd find on Tokyo, but the Kami will also keep demons out as well. Marc agreed.
And so the Kami were able to set up shop in Japan. Riding along were a few other spirits, namely Beryl, who thought it was the opportunity to gather Essence and free Metallia from Limbo.
Plot:
Basically, the same as season one (anime). Luna, survivor of the destruction of the Silver Millenium, finds Usagi/Sailor Moon. They fight Youma, meet up with Tuxedo Kamen, yadayadayada. The divergence begins sometimes near the end of the first season, when they start looking for the Crystal.
After being "thwarted for the last time", Beryl gets a summons from Beleth. It turns out that Beleth was aware of the Kami's duplicity, but instad of punishing Beryl, Beleth offers to let her use demons and kill Usagi (because Usagi is the grandaughter of Blandine; Blandine created Serenity with her own Forces, making Serenity her daughter, while Serenity created Princess Serenity with her own Forces). Intead of Tuxedo Kamen being kidnapped, we get real demons (not Youma) ambushing Sailor Moon.
In Heaven, shit hits the fan. Lawrence (Archangel of the Sword, the new commander of the Host) is pissed with Marc making a deal with spirits. While they argue, David (archangel of Stone) sends Mariel (see my fanart thread) and a couple of other malakim to investigate.
The angels arrive just as Sailor Moon is about to be toasted by demons (demons are a lot smarter and several leagues powerful than a Youma). The angels plow into the demons and the Youma. While Sailor Moon is overjoyed to see angels dispatching demons, Luna recognizes them for what they are (remember, any spirit on earth has a terminate on sight sentence -- this include Luna, and if the angels recognize Usagi, likely her too as she is the daughter of Serenity, an etheral spirit). Luna instructs the senshi to RUN. The senshi seperate and go home.
The next day, as Rei is sweeping the temple, Mariel enters. Mariel doesn't recognize Mars... but Mariel does recognize a temple with real kami that inhabit it. Rei also exhibits some power (BTW, sorcerers, which what Rei 100% qualifies for in In Nomine terms, are also on Heaven's hit list, but not the same priority as spirits). Mariel destroys the temple and captures Mars, then sends her to Notre Dame for trial as a sorceror.
In Heaven, the political uproar finally dies down. Blandine reveals that, yes, her granddaughter has been reborn as Usagi, and that she'd very much like it if Heaven didn't slay her outright. A high-ranked angel X1 (haven't decided the name yet) is sent to try to see if Usagi had signs of becoming a Gorgon (a human-etheral hybrid), or if she was human enough to be recruited as a Soldier.

Sub plot:
As it turns out, the Hino line was originally sponsored by David as Demon Hunters. Unfortunately, with the resurgence of Kami in Japan, the Hino started taking up Shintoism. Rei's Grandfather still knows some of the songs that David taught of their ancestors. However, Grandfather hino is _not_ Catholic, something which Rei's father tried to balance with Rei by sending her to Catholic School.
--
X1 contacts Grandfather Hino (but doesn't tell him that it was Heaven that kidnapped Rei) and asks him if there was some way to contact the sneshi, who were now avoiding the temple (since it was destroyed). Grandfather Hino uses the song of form to transform into Jiji, terrorizes the park, and lures Usagi and friends to the temple, where XI calmly greets them (and shows off his powers by revealing their identities and personal secrets just by looking at them).
X1 convinces Usagi that Rei is safe in the meantime, but that they should go with him to Notra Dame in order for them to meet with the Archangels (at this point, X1 knows that Usagi is Blandine's granddaughter, but doesn't know why they have to go to Notre Dame -- he's just following orders). Usagi agrees.

Sub plot:
In this story, I'm giving some of the scouts some changes in personality and memories. Makoto is a Catholic that is loosing her faith, and seeing proof of Heaven more than just uplifts her, it causes some tension in the team, especially with Minako. Meanwhile, Minako remembers being killed by an angel (specifically, Lawrence) during the fall of the Silver Millenium. Finally, Ami develops a crush on X2 (a minor angelic character), who, unfortunately, is a cherub (when a cherub is attuned to a human, their souls become linked, much in the same way usagi and Momoru are linked. X2 will be required to attune to the entire team...)
--
When the team arrives in Notre Dame, they are introduced one at a time to the various archangels, and the various information provide in the "background" will be revealed to them little by little (for example, the Ginzuishou was actually created by Eli, Archangel of Creation, as his contribution to Blandine's project). The fact that Usagi is Blandine's daughter will be hinted at numerous times, but not revealed until later on. Minako attacks Lawrence. yadayada, basically a bunch of vignettes with the team meeting up with the archangels.
However, when the team is to meet up with Yves (Archangel of Destiny) he doesn't do so in private -- Yves meets with them with every archangel present. Then Yves brings out a huge clock, then uses his powers to reveal the future...
Cystal Tokyo and a godlike Neo Queen Serenity (insert cliche of tyrannical CT here).
"Is this in the Marches?"
"No. This is earth... This is her Destiny, her Fate, and her Mask and her Image."
In Nomine terms:
destiny -- greatest unselfish achievement a man can attain; those that meet their destiny will likely go to heaven in the afterlife; etheal spirits do not have a destiny (at least, not one that counts)
fate -- greatest selfish achievement a man can attain; those that meet their fate go to Hell; spirits have no fate
Mask -- spirits only; "This is my role in the universe"
Image -- spirits only; "This is what I am and/or what I will strive to become"
At first, Usagi doesn't understand why the Archangels suddenly become quiet, Blandine and X1 are in tears, and X2 (who's true form is a large foo lion) is whimpering.
They escorted back to their quarters while the Archangels decide on what to do.
After a few days being holed up, a nuclear weapon is detonated in India, vaporizing millions
