Crossovers: Ranma 1/2, Tank Police, Dirty Pair, APCCG Nuku Nuku, and others

Plot: A few months after the failed wedding Ranma is trying to pick what he wants to do for the future. While out for a walk he helps a cop stop a group of bank robbers as they were trying to get away. the Cop mentions Ranma should join the force as they could use someone with his skills. Ranma takes the advice an joins the police acadmy an they see he is perfect for a new department that is in the works to deal with crimes normal cops aren't suited for.

Also on this unit would be Atsuko Natsume but everyone just calls her, Nuku Nuku who had been told she be really good at catching crooks since they were like rats. Another two are Kei and Yuri who were dropped from the SWAT team due to causeing the city to lose money in paying for damages. While they might call themselves the Lovely Angels, most crimnals and others call them the Dirty Pair.

Also from the SWAT unit is Charles Britain who got transfered as he caused almost as much in damages as Kei an Yuri. He looks after the unit armory an tests any new weapons himself. The Dispatcher for the Unit is Chaplain who is the units unofficial police chaplian. He tries to convince his fellow officers to show mercy on criminals but he also has a love of high speeds in the unit's modifid police cruisers. Then there is Jim E. Lovelock aka Specs, he is the scientific expert in the unit an tends to be calm and logical thinking in crisis situations. There is also Sophie Tucker who works for the Chief of police by handleing any messes caused by the unit an delivering messages to them for him. She spends a lot of time just trying to get them to fill out their reports. Last is Charlie Nam the unit's bomb removel officer but he has a habit of blowing up more bomds then disarming them.

Two other officers of the new department are Leona Ozaki and Al Cu Ad Solte who pilot the units own Mini-tank Bonaparte built an designed by the two of them. Leona was in the motorcycle division before requesting a transfer to the new department being formed. Al is also the unit's computer expert an resident hacker. The unit use to have a larger tank that got destoryed when a group of crooks tricked it into following them into a mined street. Useing the remaining parts Leona and Al built Bonaparte as it's speed allowed it to avoid mines an was more manuverable.

One of the Regular problems for the new Unit is Buaku a self proclaimed Super Criminal who tends to work for the hightest bidder. With him are the Andriod Catgirls AnnaPuma and UniPuma who were created by a mad Doctor who had alien technology to be in his mind the perfect Love Dolls an make him rich, but they developed beyond this superficial programming an became criminals after meeting Buaku while they were working in a strip club. Interestingly, for all that they were created as sex dolls, they are vastly superior to normal humans in terms of strength, agility, speed and ability to take damage. They also have what seems to be the equivalent of military-grade targeting computers. The oddest trait of their construction is that much of their large size is optional. They have the ability to shrink to child-size by expelling large amounts of water.

This was a idea that came about from watching Tank Police, Nuku Nuku and Ranma back to back. I wanted a story with elements from all the animes in it plus more. One image I got in my head was Leona chaseing down freak chip vampires in her Bonaparte while in another chapter Nuku Nuku is in a fight with the Puma Twins. Trouble I ran into was who to put in charge of the New Department an how to keep this from copying another well loved Ranma becomes a cop in a crazy unit Fanfic. One Idea I got for the Department's name was Nerima Paranormal Investgaion Unit or the NPiU.

Any ideas for who else should be in the unit or what cases they could have would be helpful. If anyone wants to use this Idea just remember to give me the credit an post a link when the story goes up.

gah...Tank Police in Nerima....you really must want to have Nerima as a write off....once Britan seens what the normal Marital Artists are doing he's gonna go to war trying to compete with them on property damage...*though snickers at the thought of tank police interrorgation on the Amazons*

I'm looking at all the manpower you are sticking on this team. And I have to wonder. Can they even work together?

Think about their personalities and how they generally tend to work in their own series. Can they get along and if not can you use that conflict to your advantage. Would there be enough respect to keep this whole thing from blowing up before you even get to criminals?

Also take a look at the Strengths you have here. Maybe getting an Aramaki(GitS) type involved in your plot to explain balancing out the teams based on assault styles and complimentary personalities.

I'm not sure you can pull it off but start out simple. Make a list of the kinds of crimes that are either too fast powerfull or paranormal for the Tokyo PD and see what plot opertunities it gives you.

You lost me there. what is a Aramaki?

As for the personalities your right but that's why i need a good commander for the whole Unit. Someone who can run herd on that bunch of manics who are safer to have working for the police then wandering around on their own. I think the group is the kind who can handle working a case on Aliens kidnappings one week , an then the next week Zombies crawling up fromt he sewers an then after that Godzilla coming to town an blow it all off as another day at work. Yet they get into fights over who gets the last jelly filled donut.

Section 9 are the focus characters of Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex.

I would reccomend seeing at least some of GitS if you want to do this kind of cop situation because although the setting and situations are different they got a working formula down and it might give you some pointers.

Oh him I never knew his name, They were always calling him Chief. Do you think he would be able to handle the NPiU? I mean part of me can see him yelling at the unit when they are questioning a suspect in uniqe ways an then when he's out of sight laughing to himself. Might have him be Cheif of Police for Nerima but someone else who a little more odd for the head of the Department.

Oh also I had this idea for a running gag in the story where after a few cases where Ranma uses his skills to beat up some crooks, one of the others asks him why he doesn't use his gun. He tells them he sucks when it comes to useing any kind of gun. Then when he goes to show them he pulls out amazing shots like shooting the wings off a fly but not killing it an he complains he was aiming for something else.

Interesting cast. Maybe you could add a member of the Patlabor police force to the mix. Maybe Miyuki and Natsumi from "You're Under Arrest".

I've heard of it but i've never been able to find any of the animes.
Also another idea I had was the unit would hang out as Ucchan's after their shifts. I've got this funny image of Britan hitting on Konatsu till he learns that he isn't a girl.

I'm also thinking this story might work better being put up on the Anime Addventure. What do you all think?

Aramaki is too calm and collected for your bunch. He could do the job but he's really the brains of Section 9 he is in every situation even if he isn't under fire.

The Main reason Aramaki can do his job so well is because he's like Charlie from Charlies Angels. He hand picked each of his teams members. He knows them and the work they do better than most people know how to breathe. The main difference between him and the elusive charlie is that he's there he'll walk calmly into the fire fight and negotiate if that's what's required. (The wine episode)

But Even though he and The Major could easilly handle being the stabalizing force needed to keep their team together without Aramaki Section 9 Cannot exist and never would have come together.

You have a much different dynamic. You need to figure out what kind of personality all of your departments members can respect enough to listen to and work with. Without that your department chief won't get much done other than fighting. More like the police chiefs in the Dirty Harry O'Calahagn series. Or the Chief with one leg from Buzz lightyear from Star Command.

It may even have to be an original character with how much you already have going on. Just please don't use it for a MarySue.

Time for me to think some more because I have my own situation I kinda need to fit some details into.

Even before you suggested Aramaki, I actually considered suggesting Matoko Kusanagi, but I'm not sure she has the personality to handle that group. Try Naomi Armitage. Though I'm not sure how you'd intigrate her into the story.

Now the interesting part will be Leona trying to prove that her Bonaparte is a match for the Tachikomas. You don't even need to cross Ranma into the fic to make that a good story.

Perhaps they could also deal with more 'mundane' non-combat related stuff. Like dealing with spaceship traffic and parking, controlling the rental applications for the 'Rent-a-Zilla' from Megatokyo, run a blood cafeteria for vampires that sells donated blood from the blood banks, enforce copyrights and licencing for magical artifact designs, and provide star maps and calenders to travelers of space and time. There could be some running gag about Police in Japan liking Okonomiyaki and hating donuts. They could even have a fund-raiser yard-sale where they sell things like millitary grade combat meccha, spellbooks, magic mirrors, and have a fruit juice stand.
