The post seems to be a bit scattered. It might be better if you get rid of the dialogue/story and just present the idea, it would be a lot less confusing for the readers.

Even if this is just a story idea, putting it out in this form is negligent: there's a lot of guess work involved just figuring out what the sentences say. I hope your next idea post will be coherent.

I love Kasumi/Ranma pairing, though I don't seem to be able to stand writing them myself so I'll just write down a few problems with the idea...assuming I understood everything.

First is that an invented plot device is used to get the story moving. That's not really a problem for a slapstick fic, but this particular story is supposed to have some serious character development in it. Worse yet, an invented plot device or some magic thing is used to resolve the story (magic mushrooms or some other thing). That makes the entire point of the story meaningless from the character development point. "Oh look, her character has changed in a way that's made her the most convenient to pair with Ranma, let's help it along with magic so she doesn't have to do any work."

There are good story elements here that can be picked out: Making a wish and not being able to deal with the consequences; and the psychological repercussions of being forced to take care of an entire household at a young age, then having the hastily built support needed to fulfill that responsibility suddenly destroyed.

Kasumi cannot remain an adult. Adults are expected to be mature. They're expected to be able to look after themselves. They're expected to manage money. Find a job. Be useful to society. Kasumi lost so much of her memory that she's practically in grade school. Are you seriously going to force a second grader to manage a business or become a doctor?

A few points:
1. Kasumi doesn't have a job.
2. She doesn't manage the expenses.
3. Kasumi started managing the house while she was in grade school. She was already mature at her age.
4. There are grown ups who still think like children. Some people act childish some time but mature in others.

However, your response has been quite inappropriate.

As for the "negligible" format, you write it. I've given you a list of ideas, work with it. I don't need to take your hand and lead you down the yellow brick road, do I? Cause if I do, I know what I'm going to ask the wizard for.

This violates the rules Specifically Rule 1E. In case you have not dead them I'll repat it here.


E) There is a difference between flames and critical commentary. Reviewers remember not to flame, and writers remember that you are asking for C&C and not all of it will be positive.

Flaming is not permitted in this forum. Arguments and debates should be kept civil and respectful of the other person's feelings and opinions. Argue with verifiable facts from sources that can be shown to other forum members. Opinions should be clearly stated as such. If you find yourself deadlocked in an argument, then it's time to end the conversation. Don't beat a dead horse, as the saying goes.

Rule of thumb: In this forum, a flame is considered to be a derogatory comment aimed deliberately at another member. An angry comment which contains the words "you" and "your" is considered directed. So is an angry comment that compares oneself to another member and denegrates that member.
