Ranma/SM fiction concept statement

the fiction is a continuation and romance/action (i think) it centers around akane but ranma is still a signifigant role.
It starts out relitively normal akane and ranma leave to go to school, and run through half a day of boaring school, the school experiances a short tremor and with it a large pillar of darkness erupts from the earth, taking some of the school with it, in its wake a large demoniclooking ship appears halfway between the dimention,
shortly afterwards many of the students are pooring out of the building and chaotic panic, some of the braver students have made it to the top of the bulding to see what the hell is going on,
a tall dark looking man in the whole standard evil looking armor with cape, sort of looks like kirin but with wilder hair,
he kidnaps ranma and returns to the darkness with his big evil air ship (TM)
this sets the stage for akane to attempt the impossible and rescue ranma, but how is there any hope for rescuing someone who can dance cricles around you in combat from a world of unknown. how do the rest of the NWC fit in as you know they must make at least an appearance,
and the senshi will certainly be attracted to a giant dark pillar of doom bisecting nermia.

You could even have all of Ranma's fiances fighting over each other to rescue Ranma.

The believability index could be touchy on this one. The Nerima crew would deffinitely stand better chances at the rescue with the help of Cologn and Happosai and or the senshi or other ally. The selling point would depend on how ranma was caught/incapacitated and why. If you go the route of some 'disable ki' mechanic it will also inhibit most of the nwc from offering much aid in the rescue either. If its a matter of over powering him then that leaves mostly the senshi, Happosai and the Matriarch as usefull saviors. In the kind of assault you described trickery doesnt seem to fit the motife which is unfortunate since that would be the an avenue to defeat Ranma yet still leave the Nerima gang in a position where they could offer substantial help for his rescue.
Maybe having ranma as the reason for the attack and needing him/her alive (at least for the time being) for anouther purpose would be a good angle for motive.

The neko-ken provides most reasonable answer. Lock him in the fugue state and have a `grandmother` there to keep him content. When he wakes up, he discovers `grandmother` is a tigeroid, back into fugue state. Simple, elegant any two characters (even Gosenkugi and Rini) could rescue him, one just has to be willing to be lunch while the other is a hero. Frankly seening the invincible NWC and the Sailor Senshi go down like ninepins, then having Rini, Tomoe (NOT Sailor Saturn) and Kasumi pull off the rescue by having a tea/dinner party would be wholly appropriate.
