At any rate, it centers on a crossover with “The World God Only Knows”. Have you heard of it? Here’s a brief explanation: In TWGOK, the protagonist is recruited by “New Hell” to capture escaped “Weiss”, runaway evil spirits from New Hell who hide on Earth and feed on a host until they can go on a rampage again. The protagonist, Keima Katsuragi, agrees and hijinks ensue. How does one get a Weiss out of its host, you might be wondering? Well, I’ll get to that in a bit.
Here’s the gist of it:
At some point during the Ranma continuity, probably after the failed wedding attempt, he’s walking along Nerima by himself when he’s suddenly approached by a girl calling out his name and asking for his help. This would be Elsee, who calls him “The God of Victory”, “The man who overcomes any challenge”, “Saotome-sama who does not lose!” and other such names while begging for his help. Having his ego stroked by a girl in clear distress Ranma readily agrees without knowing what he’s getting into.
Boom! Flash of light! Agreement! The contract is sealed! A contract collar (choker) appears around the necks of both Ranma and Elsee. Ranma, feeling bewildered, tries to take it off and Elsee, in tears, stops him saying that if he tries to take it off the collar will immediately decapitate the both of them. Ranma finally begins to realize that he might’ve gotten himself into more trouble and asks Elsee to explain further.
Weiss are hiding on Earth, inside the hearts of young girls! The only way to get them out is to fill the gaps in their heart! WITH LOVE! Surely, the God of Victory, the man who does not lose, and who, according to rumor, has more than several girls smitten with him, would be a man more than apt for the challenge? And if he isn’t, well, at least he won’t die alone, right? The contract collar will kill them both, so he won’t feel lonely!
“Oh god, you want me to actually chase girls?! Akane is going to kill me. I’m dead, dead, dead, so dead…”
Without much time for complains, Elsee’s skull headpiece detects a nearby Weiss and she drags a still catatonic Ranma to face off against the girl and whole string of new challenges…
Sadly, Ranma soon realizes that despite the fact that he has two fiancés, a would be Amazon wife, and a psycho gymnast after him, he has no idea of how to actually make a girl fall in love with him at all! It always just sort of happened, he tells Elsee who breaks downs into tears at the realization that her partner is useless and they’re both going to die.
However, Ranma’s well known for being pigheaded and never giving up, so he faces his new challenge and starts the Anything Goes Martial Arts Making Them Fall in Love with Me (Because I’d Rather Not Be Decapitated) challenge.
So, that’s the main part of the idea. I was thinking that it might be more fun to make this a multi-cross over, change the high school from Furinkan to another original one by some well used plot device, and just use cameos from other anime as capturing targets rather than stereotypes used in TWGOK.
The girls would, of course, still be subjected to the New Hell Mind-wipe and have no recollection of falling in love with Ranma, much to his relief once he gets the hang of his new “job”.
Points for thought:
+ Elsee using the same tactic to stay close to Ranma as she did in the original: She introduces herself to everyone as Genma’s illegitimate daughter.
+ Nodoka does not take kindly to this introduction.
+ Ranma using his female form in a desperate attempt to get close to his targets and trying to figure out how to make them fall in love with him.
+ Ranma reading shoujo manga trying to figure out how girls think.
+ Ranma failing miserably.
+ The merry gang stalking Ranma, finding out he’s actually chasing other girls! And what their reactions might be. I assume Nodoka would be ecstatic while everyone else would be less than pleased.
+ Would probably be funnier to drag that out though…
+ Hakua, Elsee’s friend, being partnered up with another of the Ranma cast. Probably Ukyo to make things funnier.
+ No Weiss in any of the fiancee brigade. Might be interesting in say, Nabiki or Kasumi.
Basically a vehicle for uncommon match-ups, divided into story arcs, I suppose. Might be very humorous and sweet if handled correctly, which is something I quite likely can’t do
