The Invincible GetBackers
Posted: Wed Jun 16, 2010 10:31 amThis is fusion between ranma and getbackers. To those who aren’t aware the entire getbackers world in noting more then virtual reality that gained sentience becoming it’s own universe.
Brain Trust
As Professor Amano felt like the world was coming to an end, she wanted to find a way to preserve things. Because she knew that the current world couldn't be saved, she wanted to make a back-up.
The Brain Trust was eventually formed by creating a secret cabal formed by the best scientists, engineers, artists, politicians, patrons, and super-natural beings. Various characters were revealed to be members: Ban's grandmother was the head of the department which oversaw matters of the occult, while Kagami was a physicist.
The members of Brain Trust, and Brain Trust itself, actually originate from a separate plane of existence. When this was revealed in the manga, it was also revealed that it is not just Infinity Fortress that is a virtual reality, but all of the world of GetBackers. In fact, the world of GetBackers was essentially the "backup copy" that Brain Trust, existing in the "real world", had hoped to create using the Archive as a template of the world. It was through Kagami Kyoji's scientific theory, known as the "Mirror Effect", that the world of GetBackers were able to take actual form on a separate plane of existence.
A great number of characters in this second world, in fact, exist in the real world, except with exaggerated qualities. Kazuki Fuuchouin, in the real world, is actually a girl, being a musician of Japanese traditional music, and girlfriend to Juubei Kakei, who is a young professor at acupuncture teaching at a prominent university in Tokyo. Kuruodou Akabane himself is actually a surgeon. Ginji Amano himself is actually the virtual representation of the son of the head of Brain Trust, Ginji's "mother"; the "real" Ginji had actually died at a young age, and Ginji's "mother" created the Ginji Amano in the second world as an avatar of what the "real" Ginji might've grown up to become, providing him with the alter ego of Raitei to protect him.
After all of the work was completed, there was still one thing missing...Human Will.
The Brain Trust, however, soon realized that, after much research, that willpower seemed to be the actual driving force behind humans, a huge factor behind the strife in the world that prompted the formation of Brain Trust and their goal to synchronize all human thought to save the human race from decadence and eventual collapse. "People are the gods that create the world. The things they wish for shape the world. That's the answer." Professor Amano quoted.
However, Brain Trust soon realized that their "virtual world" was going rampant, diverging off actual reality, creating new rules of physics and phenomenons that would otherwise be impossible in the real world. They soon realized that their efforts were sabotaged by the Witch Queen, Ban's grandmother, who led a small group of traitors against Brain Trust. With little options left open to them, Brain Trust decided to "reformat" their virtual world, which they deemed too corrupted and damaged to be salvaged, a full "restart". To achieve this end, Brain Trust ordered the Archive to begin the reformatting of the virtual world, all while selecting a single person within that virtual world with the ultimate willpower and strength to ascend to Babylon City and assist in steering that world back it the right path with his willpower. A God would be needed.
At the end of the manga, this person turned out to be Ginji Amano, and his "mother" revealed the actual nature of Brain Trust to him. However, Ginji stated that, despite their world, compared to the "real world", was far more violent and dangerous, he did not believe that "happiness" came through "peace", comparing Ura Shinjuku in his world with the "real" Shinjuku that the Akabane Kurudo of the "real world" showed Ginji prior to Ginji's meeting with his mother. Ginji desired for a world that he was familiar with, a world that had bonds with the people he knew. Although Ginji's world is not what Ginji's mother considered to be "her ideal world", she ceded to Ginji's desire for his world, admitting to herself that, with Ginji's willpower, things were likely to turn out to be for the best. With Ginji's wish fulfilled, Ginji himself returned to his world to the company of his friends as Ginji undid the reformatting.

The Witch Queen is a very old woman and the last great witch of the 20th century. She is the mother of Der Kaiser and grandmother of Ban Mido. It is hinted that she may be dead throughout the series, but it still truly unknown. The Witch Queen was known as fighting genius and an expert in the arts of witchcraft. The Witch Queen is quite possibly the strongest character within the GetBackers universe. She is also one of the Gods of the Get Backers universe.
The Witch Queen worked with the Brain Trust in creating the world that the story takes place, but she eventually led a small group of traitors against Brain Trust. Their "virtual world" was going rampant, diverging off actual reality, creating new rules of physics and phenomenons that would otherwise be impossible in the real world. She believed that the alternate world should be left alone and chose Ban Mido to be the one who stopped the Brain Trust's creation; Ginji Amano.
Eventually the Witch Queen spent her days during Ban Mido's childhood in and across Europe, always being hunted by shamans, the archenemies of the witch-clan. The Witch Queen told Ban Mido to become smarter than anyone else and to be stronger than anyone else. The Witch Queen has also helped Ban realize the truth about the world he lives in, his enemies, and his destiny. Because of this, Ban Mido is very knowledgeable in basically all forms of knowledge as it is hinted within the manga. Ban's Instincts as well as his Reasoning ability are that of a Detective & a Battle Strategist. Because of her wisdom and teachings, this is apart of the reason that Ban always watches the people around him and accurately deduces what they are thinking most of the time. As a result he knows what is about to happen and plans accordingly.
The Witch Queen sealed the doors to Babylon City and made it so that with three keys, it will open again. The Three Keys were the GetBackers, Himiko, and Shido (more precisely, the Chimera which he possesses). Once all three were in anyone's possession, the key could be used to re-open the gates of Babylon City. At the height of her powers she fought the Voodoo King and trapped him there. Voodoo King is like Raitei; he seems to be an unexpected glitch in the program that sought to dominate the GB World, and /or go into the real world. At the height of her powers she would have been between Der Kaiser and Ban in final battle's powers. It is also hinted that she lost a great deal of her abilities in sealing the Voodoo King.
The Witch Queen believes that the world Professor Amano is trying to create is a hollow world, devoid of soul, of choice. It is a world not suitable for human habitation. That is why she sealed the door to Babylon City, to protect those that live within the world of the Ginji and Ban. To Protect the world from the whims of those that live in Babylon.
She wanted to create a vacuum between the two worlds, so that no one from that world could lay their dirty hands on this one. However, Professor Amano was able to send the child of light to their world... That Child was Ginji Amano. To the Witch Queen, he was the true seed of this world’s destruction, planted by the design of the archive. Thus, it was Ban Mido's destiny to defeat Ginji Amano in the Orge Battle and make it into Babylon City.
This fic will use the premises that DB Sommer used in his fanfic avenging. Using a bunch of different characters from different anime’s for the fic. The fic will start out as nothing more then a basic fight between ranma and someone else (most likely ryoga). After the fight you become aware that someone was watching it this will be the witch queen (she could or could not be related to ranma it doesn’t matter). Basically she’ll come up to ranma kind of like cologne did when they first met only much more civilized, but never telling him who she is or what she’s there for. Then she uses a device on ranma I’m thinking something like the nerolizer from men in black. There is a flash and the prologue ends.
The next thing you know ranma wakes up in the getbackers world, the canon world nothing more then a dream.
Ranma will take the place of ban mido, I actually think that ban and ranma are a lot. I can see ban as a worldlier version of ranma who uses his intelligence for more then just fighting.
Ginji will stay the same, not that I’m lazy I just think no one can replace ginji
Nadoka will take the place of Der Kaiser (ban’s father). While there are a lot of comedic moments in getbackers iis pretty serious and genma saotome just isn’t the sort of person who could produce someone like ban, and I just can’t see him coming up with an elaborate plan to remake the world in his image. While nadoka is kind of crazy given the right environment I can see her as der Kaiser.
