What manga/anime charachter do you not like and why?

I'm just thought I'd like to see people's opinions on what charachters from a certain anime or manga they find particularly unlikable and why you feel that way about them.

It's okay to mention Ranma or Sailor Moon charachters on this, although other series are always welcomed.

For me, a few for starters:

Itachi (Naruto) - This isn't so much for what he does as much as the way so many people seem to feel the need to try to make him come across as a much less evil charachter than he really is due to his far calmer nature compared to many other villans (He's definately one that I am tired of seeing sanctified). Plus, there's the way that people demonize Sasuke as a way of defending Itachi.

Ajo (Key the Metal Idol) - He just seemed to go a little too far with the "irredeemable maniac villan" image. It was shown that he had basically no redeeming qualities and it was hard to relate to him at all (Gendo at least had some of a human side to him). Plus, as attatched to both Miho and Key as I got I couldn't help but be a little pissed as some of the stuff he does to them.

Okay, I'm done talking. Anyone have their suggestions?

Ayeka (Tenchi Muyo!) Spoiled, bratty, whiny girl that only wants things her way, regardless. Typical of a girl who never has had to sully her hands.

Nodoka Saotome (you-know-which-one) This character I could truly and fervently hate if for no other reason than her giving up Ranma, then years latter wanting to stroll back into his life and "be there" again with a smile.

Angel (BigO!) Too many ulterior motives and sub-plots to pin her down where she stands.

Lord Ilpalazzo (Excel Saga) He's a real prick. Wanting to push his ideas of a better society onto others by force, by taking over a city. Um, hello, can we see historical references to SNAFU situations?

InuYasha AND Kagome (InuYasha) Good grief... how to explain this one... let's act it out. "IY: KAGOME! K: InuYasha! IY: *grunting* K: InuYasha beat it harder! IY: KAGOME!!!! :InuYashaaa Aiyeee!!!!!!!" And that's their dialog through hundreds of episodes. I SWEAR just listening to the audio, you'd swear it was a porno. a bad one... but still... Plus the angst trip IY has against the other chick just makes me sick.

Knives (Trigun) What a sadistic, malicious asshole! Wanting to kill all humans because he sees them as lesser beings.

Sayoko Mishima (Ah! My Goddess) (see Ayeka reference) She's also malicious and underhanded stealing that gift, case in point.

That's all for now.

Shinji from the anime. I really dislike him. I understand why he is the way he is but I disliked him so very much moreso than any other anime character.

Kenshin for Rourouni Kenshin really annoyed me as well.

Precia Testarossa and Gil Graham from Nanoha and Nanoha A's.

I hate Precia for obvious reasons; after everything she put Fate through, the only way I could hate her more was if she'd abused Fate sexually as well, and I wouldn't put it past her to intentionally warp Fate's perception of what that aspect of a relationship is supposed to be like.

Gil, on the other hand, struck me as a dishonest sonofabitch when he "came clean" about his part in the Book of Darkness Incident. His excuse that he was trying to make sure Hayate had a good life before he sealed her and the BoD rang completely false with me; I'd bet money he was trying to claim the Book's power for himself, but when Chrono threw a monkey wrench in his plans he weaseled out of any kind of punishment by claiming to have Hayate's best interests in mind.

Heh heh, so good to know I'm not alone... He is, quite certainly, the anime/manga character who constantly annoys me the most out of any I've ever seen.

Ridiculously overpowered, IMHO. And ridiculously selfless/nice on top of that. One would have been bad enough, but both at the same time? The little demigod irritates me to no end.

Mmm. Well, you two go ahead and have fun hating one of my favorite characters in shounen anime, I'll be over here in the corner worshiping this wonderful little Nanoha/Fate/Hayate wallscroll I've got.

*Begins worshiping*

Oh, in the name of keeping this post on topic, I don't hold Son Goku in very high regard either. I don't have anything against characters who are both nice and selfless, but they should have at least one failing that persistently bites them in the butt. Goku seems to be missing his obligatory failing; he's the perfect hero, he's virtually never wrong about anything, and he sucks as a character.

Oh, and Shinji Matou from Fate/Stay Night is a prick (by virtue of his actions in Heaven's Feel and within the Fate storyline) who deserved what he got from Berserker and Ilya. Such a shame the anime didn't show Zoken Matou's ultimate fate; I'd pay a good bit of cash to see that bastard bite the dust.

It's kind of similar to Vash's refusal to kill. Jeez, that annoyed me to hell so many times during the course of reading the Trigun/Trigun Maximum manga.

Yeah, and Knives was also a psychotic bastard with severe mental issues. :x

Other than that, I can't really think of any characters that stand out. Well, there's Yuki Sohma from Fruits Basket. I hate that bastard.

I'm pretty sure people with come along saying No kidding or Duh to this one but I don't like Aizen Souske in Bleach. I'm not sure if the reasoning would fit with allot of people though.

My reason for not liking him is because his obsession with going beyond what he can already define as perfection really irks me. He has worked hard and even proven to himself to be the best he can in all the ways he can as a Shinigami and so he decides me must become a traitor. He didn't even appear to try to find a way to do anything beyond continue his quest for more power. Not help anyone just the eternal quest for more power without any true purpose.

Totally agree with you on Precia, and mostly agree on Gil. It's 'mostly' because I got the impression that what he was trying to do was to 'correct' what happened the last time the Book was found. I think he was suffering from a sever case of 'commander's guilt' and was trying to manufacture a situation that he could then play a critical role in 'fixing'. He wanted to be the 'savior' that he failed to be in the previous incident. Even if that wasn't the case, I do think that he was up to something, and I seriously doubt it was just 'buying time' so that Hayate could have a happy fews years of life.

While I hate Gil, I reserve a special portion of hate for his familiars. That last part they play is beyond vicious. They reach a level of cruelty that literally turns my stomach. They didn't just push Hayate over the edge so that the Book would fully activate, but what they did was to guarantee that she would want to destroy the world. And by using the forms of Fate and Nanoha, they did their damnedest to make sure that the two with the best chance of stopping it, couldn't.

And the epilogue scene showing him retired actually had me shaking in rage. The man should have been imprisoned at the least (I prefer executing him, personally) for recklessly endangering an entire populated planet. I also got the impression that he was fully aware of what type of person Hayate was and chose to ignore the perfectly reasonable approach of simply talking to the girl and telling her what they know of the book and working together to find a way to stop it. The way his familiars push Hayate's buttons shows how well they knew her.

The man, and his familiars, should have been tried, then shot.

Nah, don't waste the bullets; shoot Gil, then let the Lieze twins die a slow painful death as Gil's linker core ceases to supply them with the mana that familiars (except Zafira, possibly by virtue of his connection to the BoD) need to exist.

Totally agree with you on Precia, and mostly agree on Gil. It's 'mostly' because I got the impression that what he was trying to do was to 'correct' what happened the last time the Book was found.

That occurred to me as well, but the aforementioned viciousness the Lieze twins used in their manipulation of Hayate has me pretty convinced that all three of them are rotten to the core.

You know, I'm honestly gaining a desire to check out the Nanoha series. My curiosity about it has fully been piqued. XP

What, only just now, KH? :P

I'll PM you a link for torrents of all three seasons; I think Larry might object if I just post it on the boards.

Actually, I don't know a thing about using torrents or anything similar.

I know a place where I can see them, and it doesn't involve downloading. Which is good, because I hate having to download. XD

There are a number of characters that I don't particularly like, but I only have time to mention one of them right now.

The villain Spandam, as seen on One Piece. The guy's really weak, but uses his high-ranking position to the fullest: he bullies people, is interested in gaining rank at the cost of others' lives, enjoys abusing defenseless captives, and is willing to let innocent people bite the dust if it means achieving his goals. "Spanda" really irks me something bad.

The only character in One Piece I can't stand is the main rubber boy commonly called straw hat. I do know his name but refuse to type it because I really can't stand the character enough to let myself do so without getting a major headache. With the exception of how he sometimes is helpful there is nothing I like about him. Subs are bad enough but the dubs have caused me to vomit more than once. Even though I do like just about all the rest of his crew.
