I have seen all the Tenchi Muyo OAVs, but can't figure it out. It/she looks like Noike Jurai and Misaki Masaki Jurai to me

Look for the counteractor's reaction to Tenchi, she is very affectionate towards him. The counteractor is probably Tenchi's mother. This also explains why the goddesses couldn't accomplish their goal before this. Z released the woman who would birth Tenchi from where she was trapped.

I believe it's Misaki Jurai since Tsunami refers to her has "Mother" (and I read, some site somewhere, that it was her^_^).

I agree with Camk on this one. Misaki's character profile (and, earlier, the comprehensive OVA description) at Tenchi Muyo: Another Universe points out that there is an overly vicious and powerful side of her that is typically locked away.

The Counter Reactor seemed to react romanticly to Tenchi, and it didn't look like his mother to me.

I thought that could have been implying that Tenchi and the counter reactor might have literally been Tsunami, Tokimi, and Washu's mother and father, and Tsunami had just put two and two together.

Her true powers become evident in her rampage as she begins destroying Jurai. She pauses as she encounters Tenchi and the young female Kagato. Apparently after they are pulled out of that timeline, Z comes and pulls her to 1994.

So the woman was a future Misaki who had gone nutso because she lost everyone she knew.

That does not make sense. How do you kill everyone she knew/loved? Tenchi, and Sasami alone should not have died, and then how do you kill everyone powered by a tree.

I have only heard about the Tenchi Novels, but I am farirly sure that that information does not come up in the anime. Anime, manga, and Novels having the same name almost always have drastic differences.

But some times the "Drastic Difference" is the only cannon source for information that isn't so obvious in the other media.

There isn't really any information provided on how that future event comes to happen, so that's the reason it's kind of vague. It is kind of stupid how it was randomly included within the anime with little or no information.

Kajishima is the creator of the Ryo-Ohki continuality, and the novels and doujinshi -- as well as interviews -- are all part of the same continuality.

Can you always fit everything from novels and other media into an anime? It's not always possible.

The novel Jurai tells of Azusa's childhood, how he met and feel in love with Funaho, etc.

The Novel Yosho tells of Yosho's past up until he seals Ryoko.

The Novel Washu tells of Washu's life from when she put herself into a 3rd dimensional body and left herself at a monastery with no memory 20,000 years ago.

If you can't rely on an author/creator who has spent 20 or so years working on fleshing out the story of his creation in what ways he can, then what CAN you rely on?

The information is spread out between anime, novels, doujinshi, and interviews, but it's all part of the same thing. If you want to ignore it, then okay.

Based on what I heard, Misaki of the future IS the counter reactor. I believe it supposely about 5k years in the future after which Azusa and Funaho past away of old age. In her grief, she goes all nutty.
