Ranma paused, carefully setting down his water to avoid splashing.

"A mutation, you say? Interesting that it would only develop in you...perhaps we all carry the capacity for such a..."

He paused for a moment.

"change?"

He glanced over at the silenct small girl before him for a moment out of the corner of his eye, before falling silent once more.'

Edit: "And no, I don't recall seeing any...gargoyles in my world."

"I see, only six months." Ranma settled down. He seemed a tad disappointed with something but immediately shrugged it off and settled for merely watching the conversation advance as it would.

I wonder do any of you have gargoyles in your worlds?

"Gargoyles, you mean those lame statue things." He commented after a few moments, "Yeah I've seen them, they tend to make good cover in a fire fight, and they're effective crushing tools if you push them down on someone below you as well." Ranma seemed a tad puzzled with his counterpart's interest in the subject, but was more than happy to answer her question to the best of his ability.

Rand finished her parfait shortly after she received it, but held off on getting more. "Gargoyles, you say, somehow I doubt you are talking about the statue kind."

Glancing over at the "Evil" Ranma, Rand began to probe him lightly with Saidar all the while seeming to stare off into the distance, almost as if contemplating something.

Ami rolled her eyes at Temptress' display but saw no reason to waste the opportunity.

"Double vanilla with strawberry toppings please." She politely asked the enchanted boy behind the counter, giving him a slight bow in thanks once he hurriedly handed her the treat. "Gargoyles? I'm afraid not. The only things that have come close to looking like either European or Asian gargoyles have been youma bent on draining some form of vital energy from humans." She smiled slightly as the topic drifted briefly to apparently a manga for some of them yet reality for others. "Infinite possibilities indeed." She mused.

Temptress raised her hand (the one with the spoon in, accidently throwing ice cream on Evil-Ranma's face). "Me- I had Akane, some french dude with a really long tongue, Ucchan, and that chinese school girl with the pet panda- I think her name was Ling."

Yeah Pops tried to engage me to Akane also, but she feel for Ryouga when they met. ::she giggles:: It was almost like love at first sight save Ryouga was in his cursed form an Akane planned to make him a pet as he makes a cute gargoyle beast.

Ucchan shown up but she never said anything about beign engaged to me but then she dateing Ryu who mother adopted as my brother. Don't know about any french guy but there was this shaman in training from the Congo but he wasn't willing to get a gargoyle curse. Right now i'm dateing Demmie she. she the Owner of Nightstone ind. plus she been around a long time.

Ranma felt the slight interference from Rand's probe on an instinctive level, and his eyes narrowed.

Something wasn't right....

His eyes scanned the room evenly, seeing if someone was watching their group.

"I was engaged to Akane, Ukyo, and Shampoo, as well as Kodachi." He admitted, returning his gaze to the group after a moment. "However, those have all been....called off."

He took another sip of water, again taking great care not to spill it on himself.

"But enough of this....I don't think actively searching out the Ranma and Tendo family of this world would necessarily be a good thing. One of us could possibly try impersonating Ranma..."

He glanced around, noting the various differences to "himself."

"And speaking with the old ghoul, if she is here in this....reality."

Rand got up and walked out the front door. Though she was only gone for five minutes. After a couple of minutes, he walked back in in male form, holding a newspaper. "Might not be a good idea to impersonate ourselves, unless we want to prove how 'manly' we are to mom. Look at the date." Rand threw the paper down on the table in front of everyone, but seemed a little shaken by something.

Walking over to the door of the ice cream shop, Rand peeked his head out of it and looked both ways before closing it and locking it tight, though he had no key to the lock, but there was an audible click. Walking over to the dumbfounded ice cream man, he pressed two pressure points and the man collapsed into blissful unconsciousness.

"We may have a problem."

[Atlan]

"I dunno," Temptress frowned. "I think we need to get back home. I mean, I've got Shampoo and Ucchan to think about. And a whole bunch of students."

She took another spoonfull of ice cream, and started gesturing wildly. "Where I'm from, Sailor Moon is just a silly show Ucchan's obsesed with. Where some of you are from, the X-men are an american manga. I could be wrong, but I couldda sworn there was some saturday morning anime about gargoyles in my world as well. Maby that's got something to do with how we got here? Or how we get back?"

There was a distinct 'splat' as the ice cream went flying off her spoon, this time hitting Ami. Temptress didn't notice.

"All we can establish is that some powerful magic is responsible for bringing us here. What we have to do is begin going down the list of people we know share a common thread of using arcane forces from our usual worlds. Unfortunatly, it seems who ever used the ritual had already departed, or had very poor aim.

"All the same, the most direct course is to begin a search of those people. Once we determine the who, we can determine the what and how, then we might have a chance of getting home."

Koumei has spoken quietly, in a neutral tone of voice. Such a sudden insight coming from a ten year old would disturb most people soundly, especially when it seemed she hadn't even been paying attention. "However, first we need a place to stay and use as a base of operations to conduct our search.

"And I assume everyone agrees it would be bad for all of us, if our various fiancees, rivals, and contacts were to spot us? Most especially Ryoga, or ourself of this universe. We must exercise the utmost caution...and then, given our mutal bad luck for these situation, be very quick our feet.

"Fortunatly..." She eyed each Ranma, or varition there of at the table, "Despite how poor a liar most of you might might, you could very well find an escape, I should hope, if put in a situation that would compromise us in ways we don't need."

Then she went back to her icecream, blue eyes roaming the table innocently, as if she hadn't just said what she'd said.

Temptress stared at Koumei, her mouth moving up and down as she tried to figure out what to say to the girl (or indeed, why a 10 year old version of her self was so much smarter) before giving up.

She thought back. "In my world, there were a few people who might have been able to do it- the old ghoul, the leach, Gosunkugi. Herb mighta had something lying around in his kingdom. Saffron too, for that matter. Doc Strange had the power for sure, but I haven't annoyed him recently."

The only one here in nerima that could do somehting like this most likely not meaning too is poor gosling she never was that good at magic when she was human and male.:: her figners drum on the table top as she looks at the others:: If in this world he was trying a spell for one thing then haveing something like summoning us all here would be likely to happen.

Ranma grabed the paper, "Hey I was in Romania then." he said looking at the date, then he starts to read the paper to see if he can find out about any differences between his world and this one. When he gets to the movie listings he goes white. "Temptress ya said that some people, like the sailor senshi, were just storys in ya world. The opposite is true to." He points an ad for a showing of Indania Jones and the temple of Doom, "I worked for this guy."
