crossover idea twists

Where stuff about fanfiction that doesn't fit into any other category goes. Try to make sure that new topics here actually couldn't actually go somewhere else.

Ah... I don't think that would work.

I know there was at least one flashback to when Negi was little sometime after the Kyoto arc. The FB concerned itself with a demon attack on Negi's hometown, and I'm pretty sure Negi's mom was shown. I think she was petrified and had to be healed by Nagi after the attack. This would also be when Negi got his staff, I think.

A Ranma/Freakazoid! cross where Hiroshi and Daisuke had just seen the Candlejack episode, subbed in Japanese, of course, and start joking around about the ghost taking you if you say his name. Problem is, people have started to disappear throughout Nerima, and often the last thing they'd hear is "I'm going to need more rope."

Yes, it's a crack idea. No, I'm not going to spread the meme here, unless it's in Spamville.

No, that was Negi's cousin Nekane, who Negi habitually refers to as his sister.

Another SM/Negima possibility: After recovering from her temporary infancy, Hotaru goes to school at Mahora. How will she handle being in 3-A after she discovers that compared to some of the other people in that class, being a reincarnated princess who can heal with a touch and potentially blow up the entire planet isn't all that strange?

And given the fact that Negi's secret was discovered by roughly 60% of the class by the end of Mahorafest, how long would she be able to keep her secret?

An Evangelion/Battlestar Galacta crossover

In the Evangelion movie, Unit 01 floats off into space, with the sprit of Shinji's mother inside it.

What if the Colonial fleet found it?

There's already one fic where this happens, and it ends up flying to Babylon 5, and another where this happens, and it gets found by the Republic of Haven (Honorverse novels).

How about a Psychic Academy/Sailor Moon fusion?

Usagi, Ami, Makoto, Rei and Minako are first year students at the Psychic Academy, who's aura powers are Crystal, Water, Lighting, Fire and Steel, respectivly.

The five of them, in disgust at the training uniforms, decide to design and trial a new kind of Auar-fighting uniforms- fukus.

More interesting would be to see if a purification could undo all the damage that Mew's father did to her while recklessly experimenting on her Aura.

Also, there's the fact that Ai's Light Aura enables him to alter the flow of time, which Setsuna would not find amusing. Especially since he killed his parents with it by accident the first time he ever used it (When you accidentally freeze time on one train car without doing it for the entire train, the results aren't pretty).

Would Usagi run into Mamoru in the paradream?

Not a crossover, a fusion.

The inners are just friends who meet at high school. No re-incarnation involved.

Although I can see Setsuna having the Aura of Light, and Hotaru the Aura of Dark.

Ranma/Harry Potter: Akane learns that Voldemort and his flunkies were responsible for giant monsters getting loose in the girl's bathrooms for two years in a row. She comes to the conclusion that the reason for this somehow involves perversion. He Who Must Not Be Named now faces the wrath of someone far more destructive: She Who Is Uncute.

SM/Nano. A long time ago, there were great warriors of magic and skill. They werea group that was known as Riot Division Six. This group was only one of many among a military power in the time Space Administration Beaureu. But these warriors were (mostly) human, an thus died after a period of time. Hundreds of years passed, the TSAB collapsed from internal strife. Most of the technology and knowledge from the time was lost. Centuries later Some of the relics from that age were found by a young girl who had dreams of reuniting a war torn galaxy. Her name was Serenity I.

I know what you may be thinking, but no, This doesn't involve the Crystal or the senshi being related to the Nanoha universe in any way. It's simply a way of explaining the rise of the SM, the senshi and crystal being Serenity's ideas.

Skip forwards several millenia, to modern day Japan. The senshi have just defeated (BBEG Pharoah 90 onwards). They are, however, unaware of extremely powerful ancient artifacts that are floating around Tokyo. It's amazing what sentient weapons can achieve with a few gentle mental nudges, eh?

Now I know you're groaning, saying "But Not, that's just a bad excuse to give the senshi devices!" There's a twist. Leftover daemon eggs (ballantly ripped from Shritistrang). They posses the ID's and armed devices. The devices sentience allows them to crush the daemon's instincts and take control of the humanoid body. Just in time for a bunch of girls in fukus to show up and shout about love and justice. Some dialogue later we've got the now semi-human devices working with the senshi.

Another twist; because they were only really magic amplifiers They can't really throw around that much power on their own. So they have to act like unison devices and combine with the senshi. Just imagine the armoured senshi, Raising Heart Moon being a little triggerhappy, Mercury Cross taking potshots while trying to co-ordinate the other senshi, Mars with Levantine going chop happy, Juptiter/Strada trying to get the hang of the jets and the spike on her arm, Venus Assault bouncing around the battle field making mistake with her sayings while the old british sounding Bardiche trying to correct her, Uranus and Neptune Calibers pulling a love love attack, Hotaru with Hayate's armour, wings and all, and Setsuna with a BIG hammer for when she needs to correct the timestream.

Mostly I want to see it for something along the following dialogue:

"We've got to move quickly, Bar! Good news is Usagi's found some girl with armour like yours, but with yellow metal and red gems. Bad news is they've got about a half dozen (insert season's generic enemy here) to take care of without backup!"

"I don't think you have to be quite so worried. The girl sounds quite a bit like Raising Heart, ans she isn't exactly known for-" *Pink light bathes the area as a resounding boom is heard, both quickly fading* "...restraint. Alright maybe we should go quickly, to be damage control."
There are times for magic, there are time for martial arts, and there are times for giant Tiger-Dragon Robots that have both.
Beware the Otaku. He commands a mech that can unleash 123632 gigatons. Thats the equivalent of shooting Chicago, and knocking down ever building from Colorado to Maine.

That sounds like it has epic crackfic potential, but not something I'd take seriously as a story.

Instead of having the story take place eons after Nanoha, why not simply have the devices get lost in a conveniently-placed dimensional wormhole?

Soul Eater X D.Grayman

By some odd pretense, most of the exorcists from D.Grayman end up in the world of Soul Eater. Allan happens to see one of the weapons eating someone's soul, and quite naturally gets mad. A rather odd conflict ensues as the students of Shibusen find themselves being attacked by the exorcists of the Black Order (Who outclass most of the students by a good margin.) The presence of Kishin and Arachnophobia only serves to make the situation even more confusing as it rapidly devolves into a four way battle royal.
