I liked the film's reminder that computers of the 1980s were not voice activated.

The punk on the bus was the earliest example of "Man, that guy's music is annoying!" that I remember from my life; I remember watching part of the movie with my parents when I was 4 or 5, and hearing the "I hate you" song...hearing that and seeing the punk's reactions to everyone, my thoughts back then were an early form of "...What the...?" Seeing Spock shut him up was gratifying.

I just found out that the punk who got neck pinched was the songs creator and singer. It was paced so well for that scene.

I think I remember reading somewhere that the band who did that song only lasted as long as it took to perform it.

And to think he couldn't even be considered an actor at all until he was voicing the computers quizzing Spock. He's a back house JOAT.
