The most recent anime that I've watched was Trigun which I watched on my PSP. The most recent new anime movie that I've watched was the first 10 minutes of Advent Children before the realized that no matter how many times we hit the 'subtitle' button on the clicker it wouldn't magically change the bootleg DVD that we had into one that actually had subtitles T-T. The two most recent new animes that I have watched are Grenadier and Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan, both of which are in AMV Hell (if you don't know what AMV Hell is then go to google video right now http://video.google.com/videosearch?q=amv+hell).
Grenadier is the story of an average spiky haired katana-wielding anime guy who through an unclear series of events meets a pacifistic blond gunwoman with boobs as big as her head. said woman also stores extra bullets in her cleavage and is able to pull some sort of wierd move where she thrusts her chest out and the bullets fly out of her cleavage and magically all face the right way and reload her gun. Fanservice aside the fight scenes are actually pretty cool and the quality of the art is pretty good if not exactly innovative. As far as the plot goes, for the first half of the series it's essentially Trigun only Vash has really big boobs and invites guys to take baths with her all the time in a completely platonic way.
Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan which essentially means 'Club to Death Angel Dokuro-chan' is the story of one extremely unlucky boy and the bumbling angel who is trying to save his life but repeatedly kills him in the process. Dokuro-chan has been sent back from the future to stop said boy from inventing an eternal youth potion which leaves women as little girls forever by killing him. The only problem is that Dokuro-chan doesn't want to kill him and tries to prevent him from inventing it in other ways, like keeping him from doing his homework and distracting him in class. After all, if he doesn't get an education then he can't invent anything right? However there's one big problem with Dokuro-chan's solution, she keeps killing him with a truly vicious steel mace.

It's a good thing she can bring him back to life.... Bokusatsu Dokuro-chan is on youtube and is really short so you have no excuse not to watch it. It's like the WTF of FLCL and half the gore of End of Eva mixed with Hayat's (from Excel Saga) life span.

Full Moon? Is that the one with the girl who wants to be a singer but is dying or something and gets help from some shinigamis?

Alright I will get back to watching that, took a detour to watch Haruhi. I still say I have seen those Shinigami before, and I am certain it wasn't in an amv.

sorta correct. she has throaght cancer and will die in one year from the series start. she then bolts off to the audition she had already been accepted to and takuto ends up magicing her to her '16 year old' form. she wasnt supposed to be able to see the shinigami ^^; and takuto just couldnt stop from wanting to help her (the reason why is explained~ though i wish they haddnt cut out meroko's story ;_;)

Haruhi gets better, right? I just watched the first episode, and that was a lame way to start off a series. It's like you're supposed to ignore it and really start with episode two, but I'm a little hesistant if episode one is a good representation of the way the show really is.

Yeah it gets better. That episode is basically a fanservice episode. Only thing is, you have to be able to pick up a story that jumps around a lot. The episodes aren't in order so you may be watching when they first start the club and then suddenly they are trying to solve a murder and have more people there than you recall seeing join.

Okay, I'll at least give episode two of Haruhi a try.
Oh, yeah. Another series I just tried out is Kamichu! That's a series where the supernatural world is part of everyday life. A girl is eating lunch with her friend, and suddenly tells her "I became a goddess last night." And she means it. Another girl joins them, and they attempt to find out what kind of goddess she is. She inadvertantly causes a typhoon to start as a result, confirming her newfound divinity. Unfortunately for her, godhood doesn't do a thing to help her get the boy she's interested in to notice her. Every time she talks to him, his first reaction is "Um, who are you again?"
The series has the feel and flow of Azumanga Daioh, and I liked the two episodes I saw.

Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu has this sort of transcendental feel to it.... it's semi-surreal.... it seems like a harmless school-life drama, comedy but it's a little deeper than that. The timeline does jump around quite a bit, but in some strange way the order does make some sense....
The characters are eccentric, and the storyline seems slow sometimes, but there is this sort of lure that makes you really want to find out where the story is going, it's like a puzzle, you're being given random pieces in a big picture, and you're ask to piece it together... but you don't even know what the final product looks like. Heh. Or something like that.
Regardless, it's one of those sleeper hits that'll get you in. I started watching it thinking it was a bit odd but ultimately sort of lame, and as we see the series progress, you can't begin to guess where is the series going?
Besides it has Nagato Yuki who is so cool, that words can't even begin to descri be it. And the whole series is supplemented by commentary by Kyon, as he slowly develops relationships with this ragtag group.
