Trapped by honor, Ranma decides to become a she

It's been a LONG time since I read this one, but this is a fairly short story, a one-shot, I think. Ranma approaches Cologne and explains his life and gets her agreement to help talk to his mom. He leaves it up to his mother, but by the end of the night, either he becomes a girl permanently with no memory of being a guy, or he kills himself. His mother chooses to gain a daughter.
The ending is Akane thinking how ironic it is that the first words out of Ranko's mouth upon meeting her is, "Do you want to be friends?"
That's all that I can remember.

I talked with the wife about this, and she mentioned a few more details that I had forgotten. Anyway, she says that it was on FF.Net, but I still can't find it. It was read by the both of us between 2000 and 2002. It was most likely only one chapter, but it could have possibly been two. It was approximately 4-5,000 words.
The talk with Cologne is all about how abused, neglected, etc. he was during his training trip. He also asks for her assistance with the memory wiping skill the Amazon's have to remove all memories of him being a boy and to lock him in his girl form if his mother chooses that route.
His father is to be locked in his panda form, we don't recall whether or not he had his humanity erased or not.
The whole story was about him reaching the end of his rope, with no way out of his honor obligations. It was either suicide or this route in the end. Either way, Ranma would cease to exist.
Hope the extra details help, because I've done everything I can think of to find this puppy. I even spent HOURS doing a page by page search of FF.Net, and came up dry.

Do you know who might have written this piece or perhaps its name? I tried looking through some of the old archive sights but I will admit that its a bit hard to do without those bits of information. Perhaps at least who Ranma wound up with, assuming it was anyone.
