Stories w/Ranma distrusting of Senshi because Usagi too nice

This occured to me after reading yet another Ranma Sailor Moon crossover where Ranma is taken in by the senshi and instantly becomes their friend and ally, due to Usagi talking to him and convincing him to help.

Basically... I'm curious what stories out there exist where Ranma stays away from the senshi specifically *because* he is distrusting of the overly firendly and optimist attitude specifically Usagi and to a lesser extent the other senshi have.

My own views of Senshi morality and motives and what not aside, I am seeing a trend in crossover fan fiction where a senshi comes across him and then the random senshi goes something like: 'oh, let him talk to Usagi, that is the best thing for him, then he will help and we will make his issues better.'

I wanted to see if any took the opposite track.

Understand, I am not looking for ones where the Senshi and Ranma are against each other. But where they do not side with each other specifically because of Usagi's ways.

Examples that might be counted as applying (so don't give them) would include:

- 'A Certain Distance'-'A Closer Distance' by Rob Kelk.
- 'The Return' by Josh Temple, would also apply, since Ranma has maintained his distance through most of it, and then started seeing her, but still broke up with her early on into it.
- 'Earth Princess' by Cloud-Dreamer, another one where he stays awy, not truly so much due to her personality, but her actions.

One that would be borderline might be:

- 'Dreams Left Unopened' by Yasuhei, where he is asked and tries to convince her how wrong she is before it is too late.

Examples of runner ups, but ones that do not apply, would be stories like:

- 'Chaotic Rebirth' by Trugeta, in which Ranma is not distrustful of any offer of Usagi's, but is distrustful due to murder attempts by all.
- 'Mirrors Reflected' by Metroanime, where he leaves Makoto, not because he could not trust them in the beginning, but in the end because they would not trust in him.

I just finished skimming all the Crossovers I know and you have already listed all the ones that are even borderline including one that I didn't know.

I guess the reason why Ranma doesn't side with them often has little or nothing to do with how Nice Usagi is but how pathetically naive they are about combat.

Sadly the best stories to illustrate that he still sides with them and is training them.

They have increased speed but they don't move when they attack. They have increased strength but they rarely physically hit the enemies. They have increased stamina but all their movement in a fight is dodging and that isn't even done effectively while they keep throwing magic till they exhaust themselves anyway.

Really more situations happen where it's Ranma being too nice, refusing to allow any creature to die, that ends up posing a rift between him and the Senshi as opposed to Usagi's niceness.

True... one of the best to illustrate what you describe and where Ranma explains it to them point blank is chapter 5 (6 in FF.NET numbering) right at the end of the fight with Uranus.

However... that was not what I was looking for in the search.

I suppose... one other that might qualify would be 'Nemesis 1-2 Banishment & Resurrection' by Sub-Zero879. but in that... he also eventually sides with them and trains them. Just the initial break was not for that.

So for runner ups he can side with them eventually so long as the distrust over them being so innocent and nice is there at the start?

Then there might be more but I REALLY don't want to go through all the fics I just did over the past few days again.
