I believe that Can' Win by Bryan Neef might qualify. At least, it seems implied to me that it fits your criteria. Unfortunately, by the time anything is resolved, the story is done, and a sequel would probably have more accurately fit what you are looking for. To the best of my knowledge, no sequel was ever written.

You might also consider Fame by Simon Bre to qualify, since it is implied that Ranma *has* to attend the school since his grandparents registered him for it. I suppose that might be considered a matter of honor. This is something of a stretch, but it is a good read.

And i think by the gratuitous Japanese rule, it was implied that the only other fics have far to much Japanese incorporated into them to be worth reading.
