Power of Love Ki Attack

I tried googling for this quite a bit and I could never get a good result. I'm looking for fics where one of the Ranma cast achieves a Ki attack powered off of love. It doesn't matter how much else gets crossed in.

I know there is one Macross cross fic where at the end Ranma ends up tossing out a 12 foot tall pink heart. But the story doesn't continue or do anything where it really gets used.

So I think you can see why it's hard to track down. Are there any fics you know with good attacks are powered by Love and used in fights?

Try crosses with Sailor Moon. As we all know, fanon Ranma can copy almost any martial technique he sees. If he is around when Chibi Moon fires off a Pink Sugar Heart Attack, we got it nailed.

He'd probably save it to use on Ryoga, just to see the look on his face.

It vaporized the pole, the large tree behind the pole, a nine-foot section of the meter thick stone wall around the village and kept going for about a hundred meters, vaporizing everything in its path until it dissipated.

Ranma groaned and put her face in her hands in embarrassment as Cologne snickered beside her. Shampoo, who had returned from putting salve on her hands just in time to see the heart flying down range, was laughing hysterically.

"'Burst of Love', huh?" Cologne cackled. "You don't by any chance own a seifuku with a really short skirt do you?"

"I've never been so embarrassed in my life," Ranma groaned plaintively.

"It was rather..." Cologne snickered again. "...cute for an attack, but it was very powerful, Ranma. I haven't seen a lot of chi attacks that could match up to it. I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of such an..." Snicker. "...adorable chi attack. Just think, you'll be the envy of teenaged girls everywhere."

"Ha ha ha," Ranma said sarcastically. "Very funny."

Cologne joined Shampoo in the hysterical laughter.

"Look at bright side, Ranma," Shampoo gasped out between peals of laughter. "Whoever no hit with..." Snicker, giggle. "...pink heart attack, be laughing too too hard to continue fight. All Ranma need is sailor outfit with really short skirt and stupid speech and enemy think Sailor Moon attack them."

Both Shampoo and Cologne were reduced to tears as they laughed it up. Ranma just hung her head and moaned pitifully.

It is removed now, but back when TheGrum had that misposted update, Ranko had attacks that were pure life energy that acted like love in a sidestory of Breaking Chains.

In the following, Ranma had a mixed soul that had a aspect of it that drew others to him and forced them to find something to like about him that was mirrored in them, not an attack, but more like a unconsious compulsion.

Additionally, I'd have to look them up, but a couple come to mind with Ranma where he plays a instrument and the emotions affect those around him. Mostly love or sadness. And one with an instrument where if plays it, affects the whether.

That instrument one sounds almost like it could be a Zelda GB Links Awakening cross. My main problem with the Dragon Lady of Mac was that the attack really only got made at the end. It would have been so much fun if someone had at least done a Spamfic continuation with that Ranma-chan being harassed by moon cat advisors trying to convince her she was a distant relation to Sailor Moon or something.

Ranma used one like this in CarrotGlace's 'Insertion'. IIRC after Ranma had been cursed with a inner councious (after being hit by Sailor Moon's final attack IIRC) he tried shooting ki blasts at a tree later. However since he was using an emotional focus and the inner voice contributed 'Peace and Love' was included and caused the tree he tried to blow up to spring up with new growth etc from his 'love ki blast'

Not neccesarily true. Confidence is not really IMHO a heavy emotion, yet it works as a blast.

You can see how things fizzle for Ranma when he isn't confident enough. It still floats. But it did more or less make it clear that emotion strength was more important than weight. Unless you are planning to squish someone under the Shishi hokoudan perfect.

I'm sorry I can't remember the name or author of the fic, but I do distinctly remember reading one fic where Akane is dueling Shampoo and later admits (with some prodding) that she used a ki attack based on her love for Ranma. Perhaps that will jog someone else's memory, since I don't really remember anything else about the fic.

Actually in canon Ranma 1/2 the ki blasts are pun based and the effect is entirely determinated by the literal meaning of the pun (they just happen to be effectively emotion based because Japanese has so many ki-based idoms for emotions); 'the heavy emotions needed' is just for the shishi houkoudan because it's based on the pun 'the ki is heavy' = ki ga omoi = 'feeing bummed out'; there is no reason to think it would apply to any other attacks.

I can't think of a good pun to base a love blast on, and I strongly suspect if there was one Takahashi would already have used it. That doesn't mean there should be no love blasts in fanfiction, though. It just means that such a fanfic is not a fanfic of Ranma in general, but a fanfic of a translated version of Ranma, just like fics where Kunou is quoting Shakespeare. But arguing about what particular effect a love blast would have canonically makes just as much sense as arguing abbout which Skespeare passages Kunou should quote canonically, i. e. none at all.

There's also a fic where Ranma and the Tendos get turned into Mermaids called something along the lines of "A Day at the Beach", although it's been years since I read it so I might be misremembering.

Anyway, one small section of the fic has Ranma letting off a Ki attack through the power of feminine orgasm. It's not quite love, but it's along the same lines .

EDIT: It's not lemon/ecchi or anything, just a normal fic, for those who are wondering. Just that one section has lime overtones.

I regrettibly cannot remember the name of it, however, one comes to mind I read in passing a long time ago.

Nabiki, for reasons I cannot remember, after getting either just out of high school, or just into college, starts asking Ranma about ki, and training her specifically for ki use. I cannot remember if she goads him into it, or offers something in trade. In the explanations, he covers briefly the 'colors' some ki blasts contain, and emaotions to go with them. For some time as he trains her, she is fustrated at a lack of progress, and she finally does manifest a (pink) aura briefly, but it fizzles and she passes out. Of course, pink was a color that Ranma did not cover, and did not mention at first when seeing it. After a few days, she works up the gumption to ask him, and he tells her. Ranma had thought it might have been love of family, but Nabiki was hiding it was her growing love of him.

The story never really developed to the point of her producing blasts of love, just getting better at the aura itself, and doing little tricks with it, like producing a small amount of heat from her hands, and I think juggling a ball or two. I think she at one point hits him with it and shocks him, but could be wrong.
