There is a reboot for Sailor Moon R -- Nightelf's The Thin White Line. It's short, excellent, and very much a matter of things happening differently.

On of the first fics I ever read (this would have been like, early 1996) had Chibi-Usa accidently going back too far in time (either the second time, or a third time) all the way back to Usagi's first battle. I don';t remember the name, alas, or even if it got too far into it...
