Temple of Ranma's Sailor Senshi Seifuku

After reading over Sunny's Eva fic (and enjoying it), as well as a few from Naruto, I was wondering how many other stories change the gender of their main character during the series. Not the 'X was born a girl/boy' AUs. Of course the standard desire for upper quality of writing is a must. Some that I've been curious about would be Harry Potter, though any series would be given at least a shot.

These are original works, not fics, but Misfile features a main character flipped from boy to girl because of a heavenly filing 'error' (certainly not because the angel on the job was a pot head, of course!), and the Whately Academy stories are all very good.

Shameless self-advertising, but maybe my story will fit (The change happened in the prologue). It's a Fate Stay Night fic with somewhat original storyline.

You have to be careful in specifying these things; gender and sex are not the same. For instance, in Ouran High School Host Club, Haruhi is fluid of gender, but definitely female. In Ranma (at least the 'I'm a guy, dammit!' portions) Ranma changes sex but tries to stay a man.

The common ways of expressing this are man/woman for gender, male/female for sex.

As for your remark, Ellen. A point. I do mean more closer to the Ranmaesqe sex change.

And I'm very familiar with the Whateley Academy and her many excellent authors. But again, I was more interested in prior established worlds like animes/published books/movies/TV series etc.

JoeHundredaire on Twisting the Hellmouth has a few that do that. I remember one by him where Harry gets cursed by witch to be a girl and another where Draco has an attempt to sabbotage Harry's potion go dreadfully wrong and was changed into a girl. I believe he also has a story about a female clone of Peter Parker amoung his many offerings.

It has Xander being turned into a female sith/jedi by Halloween and getting stuck as a girl and later learning jedi skills, even though Halloween is over. It gets a bit over the top later on, especially the sequel, because Xander knows a lot of high tech stuff and makes advancements to Earth's technology and joins X-com fighting aliens.

'Half Blessing, Half Curse' by TD Master has Xander sold to the Chinese mafia by his father and winding up meeting Ranma and Genma in China, he is able to be taught Anything Goes quickly because his chi has been increased by the Hyena possession and living on the Hellmouth, he only needs help unlocking it and learning to fight, and Xander winds up getting the same Jyuusenkyo curse as Ranma and an Amazon fiancee, and into rather Ranma-like romantic hyjinx initially, only Xander actually likes the curse and embraces it and turning into a girl. I'm not sure if it qualifies to this thread because Ranma is actually in the fic, although mostly he only shows up in Xander's letters until the sequel fic when Xander visits Nerima.

Hmm... I don't recall JoeHundredaire writing a story with Harry being cursed into a girl. Any idea where a link might be? I looked through his TTHM fic list but nothing stood out that might be thta kind of fic.

There is an older HP fic called "Holly Potter" by Kim West that I like quite a bit. WARNING through, while Holly Potter is PG / PG-13 most of the sites it is hosted on have a heavy erotica section. Explore out of the story at your own risk.

The story by JoeHundredaire was awhile ago and I think he deleted it. It was only 2 or 3 chapters long and unfinished. But still he has a LOT of stories involving genderbending of main or minor characters. So his stories are still worth checking out.

There are a few Stargate and Stargate Atlantis fanfic where there's such change.

Probably the only one worth reading would be "Ardhanarishvara"

I consider a lot of it comedy. Change characters are Sheppard, Ronon, and Teyla. If you follow the series...
