Nodoka Inverse.

I know there are a few out there. So here's what I'm looking for. Fics where Nodoka is either a Reincarnation of Lina Inverse or a direct blood relative of the Sorceress. It would be nice if it's something larger than the Poem of Beowulf. (I once printed that out on a single sheet of paper both sides even though I never memorized it.)

As long as Nodoka isn't Lina because somehow Lina lives all the time in between and then is stupid enough to fall for Genma.

Nodoka is not Lina in that story... Nodoka is Lina's *mother* in that story.

This can't be the only fic. Nodoka can be a Reincarnation of Lina or any blood relation to Lina even great great etc great grand daughter. All those relations count. Please more fics would be great and this one is nice so far. Although there is a minor plot hole having the guys buying swimsuits in what was before entering clearly described as a woman's clothing store, in Chapter 6.

I wouldn't be too surprised if it's the only one. You've really been pickin' 'em, lately, Spokie. ;p I mean, first off, you'd have to narrow it down to stories with at least Ranma 1/2 and Slayers in them (and, being that I'm interested in both series being crossed, I'm disappointed about there not being as many as someone might expect). Then imagine the chances of an author requiring Nodoka to be related to Lina Inverse, in some way, for whatever purpose they may have with it. If you're thinking that the idea isn't too far out there, I'd agree: it's not uncommon for Ranma to become related to someone of importance, from another universe, when his own universe is crossed with it.

I'm certain there are more stories where Ranma is related to Lina Inverse. But, whether his mother plays a significant role in the stories (is at least a minor character, and may show some magical aptitude), if one at all, is another matter. If she's required to be in the story, at least passingly, rather than just suggested by Ranma being related (perhaps because it takes place at a point where his mother isn't introduced), finding another story probably won't be easy. But I'll keep an eye out... Maybe I'll find something at some old haunts.

I didn't say anything about how much of a role she has in the fic. And there is another fic that has been on this site a few times where she is a descendant. Wild Magic. At least she definitely was before the rewrite I should reread the revised chapters.

Nope. In 'Wild Magic' the Malfoys are descendants of Lina. Nodoka is a descendant of Gourry.

The Malfoys had the sword and Lina's portrait. Nodoka before rewrite had some things of Lina's and it was made fairly clear that Lina and Gourry were together but somehow one branch of the family kept appearances but not magical potential while the other side didn't keep looking much like either of them but kept high enough in magical potential to avoid having squibs and kept being seen as a "Pure Blood" family.

As was already stated, there are not near as many Slayers crossovers with Ranma as one would expect... Only around 13-14 or so I've run into, not counting AA threads and multicrosses.

Of all those, most either take the approach Ranma goes to their world, or they are reborn here through jusenkyo. A couple take the approach of Lina being an amazon, and one I think has Lina as his many time great grandmother, and she to fulfill a phopesy had to train him.

Lina and Luna are technically grand children of Ranma in Innortal's story... but Nodoka has no knowledge of it.

EDIT: I just remembered another one, no name, came across on FF.NET a few years ago. Ranma through foul means was locked in female form, sent to the slayers world, and became Lina Inverses mother.

In a way, Nodoka is a direct blood relative in it, but I found it dreadful reading, gave up after 2 chapters, and never thought about it again... until now.

Wait... Then why bother asking for a fic where her ancestry is important? When you're just as likely to get the same result with Ranma, the common denominator? And I ask this because it'd make more sense for the person making a request to actually be interested in the character's role, that their requirements apply to. You're not trying to confuse us poor, potential aids, are you? O.o;;;;; (I mean, if it ultimately affects Ranma, and that's what you're after, you might as well mention that. Or else we might get the idea that you're interested in the character role, not the plot device, and end up thinking only of the stories where Nodoka's presence is significant, as a character, rather than just a detail.)
