Temple of Ranma's Sailor Senshi Seifuku

I haven't really read much in the way of fanfiction for the past six or so years, save for one or two I've read before and new ones that don't amount to the total amount of fingers on one hand, so my knowledge of what's out there, these days, is pretty lacking. I've always had an interest in stories that focused on Ranma in his female form, though not just ones where he gets stuck in that form or decides to be a girl (and I'm not interested, at all, in Ranko (is and has always been a girl) stories, since that's a different character entirely). Basically, the story only needs a plot that requires Ranma to be in his female form often enough, voluntarily or involuntarily. You know, kind of like the stories where he's a senshi.

So, I thought I'd ask for some recommendations. It's a lot more efficient, and less troublesome, than the amount of time and effort it would take to sift through ten-thousand stories at FF.net, or to find sites, with collections or those by authors, that might have what I'm looking for. Anything post '03 is good, but anything prior to that is fine, too, since I might have missed a story back then, or stories that had been in progress and have since updated.

Yeah, I'm very familiar with that place. ;p I probably should have mentioned that I was going to look for some new stuff there, since the restrictive list might have something that I haven't read, yet. It was on my mind when I was writing my post... Me and my brain farts. ;/ Still, thanks for caring enough to post it. It's a pretty good place to start.

Other then that there are so many on my favorites list/author list on that it is hard to narrow them down.

I'm going to deliberately *not* list crossovers, with one minor exception. If you are interested in crossover Ranma-chan fic, please let me know what series you like since otherwise the majority of my favorites list would qualify and I don't feel like typing that many stories out. I'm somewhat obsessed with Ranma-chan (heck, any of the fics I'm writing is going to deal with him and his feminine side at least a little bit, not that I'm willing to say I'm a good writer yet).

Well, there's this one:
The Journey is the Destination by Poetheeater1, but it's more focused on the relationship with Akane than with Ranma's female form. That said, he's in female form the whole time deliberately.

One Half a Wing and A Prayer by Tirsis focuses on a succubus Ranma-chan, the uncensored version is available through a link in his profile page.

A Different Path by hueloovoo is probably the only one of the stories from the bookmice page that has actually been updated anytime recently.

Chiyoyorozuyo by RanChan is all about a Ranma-chan set in an alt universe.

Ranma the Amorous Oversexed Nympho by WFRose is pretty amusing and well... yeah, the title speaks for itself.

If you don't mind crossovers, there are a whole slew of other fics I can list, but I'm not sure if you are looking for pure Ranma-chan or not. Heck, about half of the Ranma stories I've got favorited on ff.net probably qualify as Ranma-chan crossovers. And for some generally good Ranma-chan crosses, pretty much anything by Ozzallos is decent. I rather like Chaotic Neutral since it doesn't have a crossover though it isn't developed.

For now, of crossovers, I'll just list A Trip to Self by Trugeta because the crossover aspect is relatively small compared to the rest of the story which primarily deals with Ranma accepting his cursed side and a relationship with Kasumi.

As for crossovers, I'm not too particular. Not really. I'm less likely to read one with too many crosses, though. But I'm willing to read ones that cross with series that I'm not familiar with, if the plot itself seems interesting enough, and/or if the writer doesn't completely assume that the reader is as familiar with the series as they are. It just depends. Two of the three new stories that I've read in the last few years were crossed over with series that I wasn't familiar with (Rosario + Vampire, Negima and Bleach).

I have a few series that I do look for, as a crossover, but any series is alright if the plot and plot device(s) catch my interest.

Yeesh, that opens up a *lot* of territory, I'll list some standouts, but really, the Ranma section of my FFnet faves list is pretty much a glossary of Ranma-chan crossovers that I've found and liked. I'll avoid posting fukufic because those are pretty much all on the blog:

But first, here's a pure R1/2 fic: Her War by Materia Blade is in progress and it is definitively Ranma-chan. That said, it is utterly brutal. I personally can't make it through the story, though it is written extremely well. I just don't have the stomach for it, Lost Innocence is about as dark as I can stand to read, or Starting Over, and this is at least an order of magnitude above them on the dark-fic scale.

I think this fic is old enough that you might have seen it, but I don't know the original posting date, plus I think it is wonderful. A New Awakening by Jerry Unipeg and Dani Yanega is fairy!Ranko and very well done.

Chaotic Rebirth by Trugeta is a good pregnant Ranma-chan/SM cross. I'd like to see it finished or continued though.

Daimakaicho Ranma by Tuisto is a good start to a Ranma-chan as a demoness fic set in the A!MG universe. Like most AMG crosses though, it stops right when it was starting to get going.

Hikari no Daija by Miriani is a great HP cross but unfortunately hasn't been updated in a very long time.

Neko by Angel Frog is another good HP cross.

I rather enjoyed Saiyajinnyanicuan by Trugeta even though I normally hate DBZ crosses.

That's all for now, there are a bunch of others that are significantly more incomplete, are listed on the sites that were posted, or are fukufics that are probably recent enough to qualify, but this seems like enough links for now.

I suppose I'll post one more even though it isn't necessarily Ranma-chan, she features quite a bit: The Wild Horse Thesis by Calamity-Queen is a good Eva cross.

Just that it's not necessary for Ranma to be stuck as a girl, or to voluntarily decide to be a girl over being a boy. It doesn't even have to be more than half of a story's worth of time spent as a girl. The important part is that the time spent is significant in a way that differs from his experience(s) as a guy. That leaves a pretty big door open, so that's why I asked to suggest stories that people thought were worth reading, since there are usually fewer stories that really stand out. Kind of like seashells on the sand.

True, a couple of them didn't have a choice, but I think they are well written stories that stand out for both highlighting Ranma-chan and being well written generally.

I could have posted a *lot* more stories, but I felt that was an extensive enough list and they were really the top of them as I went back through my favorites. Especially since I generally picked the longer stories. I've got a couple crosses with fun series stored (Like Strawberry Panic and Maria-sama) but very few of them are long enough for me to recommend them. I wish some of them (especially the Strawberry Panic story) had been continued, but it seemed kinda silly to recommend a story with only like 10k words.

Well I suppose Spoiled Brats hasn't been mentioned yet, it's a cross with the live action Sailor Moon plot. So it's a bit different from what one normally expects from such things, if I remember correctly it was a bit rough at the start but got a lot better afterwards.

By the sound of things, it seems like there might be a misunderstanding... Being locked in his girl form (with or without a choice) and choosing to be a girl is part of what I'm looking for. I was just putting more emphasis on stories that didn't have that because I thought if I just said, "looking for stories featuring Ranma in girl form," I would have ended up with stories that weren't like that. Which would have been disappointing since my interest in the area is pretty broad. Pun intended. ;p

Well, I can't say I'm all that interested in stories with adult(ish) material (especially if it's in a dark context), but I'm willing to make exceptions if the plot is interesting enough.

What's in a Name? by muishiki is probably the best one I can name off-hand after looking through my favorites list. It's really the only thing I've ever managed to not inherently hate Harry Potter in...So it has to be good.
