Name one, two, three or, more anime or manga YOU feel is under-exposed in the media today!
Tell us what you think are the hidden jewels!
For example, just who is my Avatar this time?

Greatest sleeper animanga in my opinion has to be Rune Soldier.

It's one of the funniest series I've ever seen, and yet I check ff.net and there's only six entries fics for it, and one of them is mine! Everyone needs to watch/read this series, and if you already have, then start agreeing with me about how awesome it is. :D
And I have no idea who your avatar is, either.

Good pick, Dragonboy!
There are a lot of, what I consider, classics out there; shows that are old but still a joy to watch and, shows that are overlooked sleepers. List them here, everyone, so we have an easy reference for quality anime.
After work, I'll peruse my stack of anime and offer my own list.

Well, almost noone knows about one of my absolute favorites, Fancy Lala...
And I guess Princess Tutu deserves a nod too, though ADV is pushing that one enough.

I poked my archive (carefully, with a long stick) and found some dusty anime I wondered if anyone else might like.
Maris the Chojo
They Were Eleven
Gun Buster
Here is Greenwood
Kimagure Orange Road
Yawara
Kodomo no Omoccha (it just got translated?)
Here are some more well known classics that don't get press any more:
Bubblegum Crisis
Tenchi Muyo
Urusei Yatsura
Escaflone
Slayers
Patlabor
Ghost in the Shell
Dominion: Tank Police
Black Magic: M-66
Ah! Megami-sama
Macross
nearly everything from Hayao Miyazaki
I know there are many more I haven't listed so add to the list!

Guyver
This may sound odd, but Sailor Moon. The anime club at the school my mom works at didn't seem to know much if anything about it first hand. They ownly had web sites as their sources of info.

Dangaio
Cutey Honey
VanDread
Photon
Guyver
Greenwood
Terramonya Voyagers

Ghost in the Shell

I don't, quite, agree about GITS if you consider Stand Alone Complex.
As for Dominion there's a new series being released right now in Japan (though for some odd reason it's called Tank SWAT). It's totally CG and the character designs and animation sucks though the first episode was pretty good and the mech designs were pretty cool

*looks through his list for the obscure animes foregoing the hentais... (and cutting the list down to about 5)
Ex-Driver
Ebichu
Guyver (although the new series helps dragging it out of obscurity)
Hitsuji No Uta
Mahou Tsukai ni Taisetsu na Koto
Tenshi na Konamaiki
Right... made it to 6 obscure ones that don't get that much attention. Then again, from my point of view all anime's are obscure. Anime isn't that big where I live, so 90% of the population may never even have heard of Ranma, let alone the list above.
Although... Guyver was on TV here. First 6 eps of the OVA. Been a while back tho.

Most underexposed anime I can think of would have to be either Happy Lesson or perhaps Comic Party. Heh, better yet here goes a list.
1. Happy Lesson
2. Comic Party
3. Nadesico
4. Dirty Pair (any version)
5. BGC
6. Blue Seed
7. 3 x 3 Eyes
8. ROD (any version, though with the new series coming out it may get more attention)
Sadly those are the only rather good ones I can think of off the top of my head that get next to no support.

Surprisingly I'd put The Sailor Moon Manga as one of teh least exposed in America.
In fact. Here's my Top #10 manga that are signifigantly different than teh Anime that are underexposed. All of These are Manga
1. Trigun (Much, Much Better than teh anime, and teh anime was pretty good)
2. Sailor Moon (Also Much better than teh anime. the sailors aren't stupid, neither are the enemies, and people die. oh yeah, and Hotaru's a cyborg.)
3. Neon Genesis Evangelion (Shinji Gets a SPINE! He Saps Gendo! And he's not the stupid unsympathetic wimp he is in the anime)
4. Full Metal Panic
5. Cowboy bebop (Raise your hand if you knew this was a sequel to the series?)
6. Excel Saga (there's a lot more in the manga than the anime. And unlike Nadesico I liked teh manga more here)
7. Chobits (While the anime descended into pointless "Isn't Chii Cute?" Episodes the manga takes a sort of asimovian feel)
8. King of Bandits Jing (the manga is good, teh anime is sorta pointless)
9. Hellsing (I enjoyed the Manga much more than teh anime. and crossfire was really fun to read too)
10. One Piece (Same as above)
I See in Your Eyes, The same fear that would take the heart of me.

*tsk* *tsk* If it was first released on DVD, it's not old enough! It has to be good and classic (old).
Does anyone else have Grey?
How about Area 88?
Perhaps Battle Angel Alita (AKA, Gunm)?
Or, there's a copy of Vampire Pincess Miyu?
And, what would a vampire trip be without the king of them all, Vampire Hunter D.
If you're in the mood for a trip to the era of long hair rock, a good non-anime cartoon is Heavy Metal

6.)Izcer One (Anime)
7.)Magical Project S, Pretty Sammy (Anime)
8.)Princess Nine (Anime)
9.)Stellvia of the Universe (Anime, haven't read the G/N)
10.)NOIR (Anime)
11.)Serial Experiment LAIN (Anime)
12.)Rurouni Kenshin (Anime & G/N)
13.)PreTear, the new ledgend of Snow White (Anime & G/N)
14.)Marmalade Boy (Anime & G/N)
15.)Kodocha (G/N, Anime sucked)
16.)Fushigi Yugi (Anime & G/N)
17.)GSC--GunSmith Cats (Anime)
18.)Aim for the Top: Gunbuster (Anime Import)
19.)Fatal Fury (Anime)

This is just a list of those that may not have been mentioned yet that I like that haven't been published/noticed in a long time. Can't go wrong with a lot of the classics, now can you. 8)
JoT is on hold..again. Legal issues and work modes have been incresingly harsh. Chapter is 25% done. Sorry.

True Anime_Freak317. Most of those are quite good, I tend to forget Noir doesn't get so much coverage because its always on my list of anime in my head. I am unsure though if Azumanga Daioh is just underhyped or people find it hard to write a story with it.
