Daisuke's & Hiroshi's social status

In some fan-fiction stories, Daisuke and Hiroshi are used to reflect Ranma's own social status at school, by association. So, I was wondering what other people thought about them, since Ranma isn't shown to socialize much with anyone else in such a familiar fashion.

I think their average. Maybe even Deliberately average by the Author because normally they would have already been part of a clique or something instead of that situation though they instantly start hanging around Ranma and really act like average guys that aren't overtly hentai but also aren't innocent either.
