The doublet system isn't taken seriously enough or ignored. That, or it's not addressed as to why adding a new god/goddess or demon/demoness would be an issue with the doublet system.
Good one that's usually ignored. Only Ranma/AMG that comes to mind where this problem explicitly stated and resolved is Lawra's What You Wish For.
