I think he was talking about fanfiction clichés. Sorry but in the manga and anime is never implied that the strangeness revolves around Ranma or Nerima, the entire world is strange from RL standards, and magic surprised people but never shocked them. Beside a lot of the eccentric characters are already living in Nerima, though all the Ranma characters are eccentric in some way from a realistic point of view. I'm completely okay with serious fics trying to explain or ignoring some illogical things but nothing makes ranma a nexus of chaos.

Even in the manga you have the same thing in regards to the Kunos... they know magic exists. It is merely a matter of a nice blind spot in regards to Ranma...

When Genma made his entrance they didn't see any magic, they were scared from the giant bear walking in their home.But this thread wasn't about certain Akane's issues?

Yes, Akane's real issue seems to be that she doesn't protect her family from a panda.

But seriously we got sidetracked by arguing the manga.
