[Ranma 1/2] Very tragic stories

Postby Gnudist » Wed Nov 21, 2012 8:58 pm

Any good fics about how a particular spring's victim(s) came to drown?

I remember the spirit explaining it, but I don't remember a fic about them drowning unless it's a new spring. (spring of drowned Jedi in one, and moon princess in some.)

Like one where the spirit of drowned girl gets Ranma's body and explains what happened.

They are usually a girl who got lost and fell in or an amazon that fell in. There was one about the pig as well, who was the girl's pet.

I think it was one of the honor ones. Ranma's or Ranko's. Maybe.

The best ive read was Nyanniichuan - Very Tragic Story by Christopher Collins. Ranma makes a wish to know why he has his girl curse and gets sent back 1500 years, where he becomes the bodyguard to a girl that looks just like his girl form. Download a zip here Taken from the Ranma 1/2 Fan Fiction Wiki

Edit: Actually does anybody have a copy saved of the sequel to this 'P.S. I LOVE YOU' as the wayback machine is missing at least 3 chapters. The wiki has links for all the chapters of the prequel story Hellcats so I've got that one.

Also, isn't one if the fics at the site have to do with Ranma meeting the spirit of the girl and all the other spirits when he's in a coma? It's the one where Ranma learns to be a girl by her. I think they explain their lives. Maybe.

I have a set of 7 files for PS I Love You in a variety of txt & html formats plus the cover 2 & 3 jpegs.
(I made a habit out of saving everything I read, born from the intial slow modem speeds, and to save finding the fic/site gone when I went back later)

I know there´s one where it starts off during the "old times" of the Sailor Moon universe, with the generals doing a literal backstabbing at Jusenkyo... It was a long time since i read it so cant recall much, or the name... :(

There are a few rewrites by other people on at least one like that so it has a few titles and authors to chose from. At least 3 of them involve Ranma as the reincarnation of Endymions sister. But she still died after that attack in the spring of drowned girl.

Hmm, that many... Well the one i meant, there Ranma´s girl form is based on the princess, no Endymion or other connections to SM-verse involved for Ranma.

Wasn't that the backstory to Earth Princess? I think? Ranma has to literally save the earth and the girl is in a media or something...

(the MEDow!)

Would you mind zipping up all files and either emailing me or private messaging please? As for saving fics, I do the same but only because I dont have my own internet so I save fics to read offline.

I save fics. Period. There are dead sites, authors pulling things off the Web, and just-plain-random bit rot. I only have a couple gigabytes of fiction on disk, and disks are much bigger than that these days. If nothing else, it saves finding and downloading a story for a second time if I wish to re-read it.

It's no trouble to do, and saves the occasional re-do. Why not?

Not to mention how often an author will start a rewrite not realizing how much it makes the story a whole new reality and give up on it only part way into what was already covered.

I think there was another one, where Ranma slowly becomes the girl who drowned there every time he is hit with water. That's at the website I think.

I've seen stories where the author rewrites a scene such that kills off the character's motivation from the first version but it's still brought up in later chapters of the revision as if nothing was different. *facepalm*
