I had an image of a row of large boxes on tripods fading into view during supper in Hogwarts, just standing there, silent, not responding to any magic the teachers cast. Then...

Fade-in as the helicopter approaches — a powerful draft blows the teachers away from the row of boxes — then full stomach-kicking sound until fade-out after the guitar solo ends, followed by the speaker boxes fading away.

Alternately:

Instead of merely singing the school song when the other schools arrive to the Tri-Wiz, a group of Hogwarts students (or maybe even Hogwarts herself) pulls this off instead.

Ranma+HP

This crosses others' ideas/storyverses.

The Saotomes are a wandering martial arts family. Genma is a Grandmaster of Freestyle Flying Fist (Happosai-less Saotome Anything Goes), Nodoka is a Grandmistress of, say, the Kamiya Kasshin school of kenjutsu, and the twins, Ranma and Ranko, now 16, are roughly Master degree in both.

They wind up in UK, being near 4 Privet Drive when Death Eaters break through to hit the house. They hit D.E.s hard with their battle techniques but manage to save only Harry (and Hedwig if the story is set between the Hogwarts letter and and the rail travel). They become Harry's family and bodyguards.

What if Ranma got introduced to the Torvalds School of Martial Arts Kernel Hacking? Background: Linus Torvalds is the original Linux kernel hacker. His wife, Tove, is/was a Finland-wide karate champion.

Hmm... Would we see 'lp1 on fire' ki blasts? 'kernel panic' boot-to-da-heads? Segfault punches? Page fault throws? HCF speed punches?

HP+TM: Washu, Tsunami and Tokimi are raising Harry. Can you imagine Tokimi tippy-toeing towards 4 Privet Drive, grabbing the basket, giggling into her palm and then tippy-toeing away? How about an utterly bamboozled Dumbledore who's always getting CNN or Sky News instead of the Harry Potter Channel? Or his Potter-monitoring instruments starting to sound like a floppotron?

This won't be strictly canon Tenchi Muyo, of course, so you could allow the three sisters to let down their hair and play up the prank value.

An alternate version might have the three Norns on the job.

SM: Post-canon, Usagi joins the JSDF and ends up captaining a rescue aircraft. Best written by someone experienced with Rescue.

If you're a Ranma/Usagi shipper, you could send Ranma to school for EMT and other skills and make him a one-man First Response team.

HP+Ranma+Slayers: Harry falls into Pool of Drowned Red-haired Sorceress (Lina Inverse). That should result in very unhappy purebloods and a very happy Xelloss.

Alternate: Harry gets Drowned Battousai (Kenshin), Ginny gets Drowned Red-haired Sorceress and Hermione gets Drowned Spiky-Haired Goblin (Washu).

Damn it MEatball head, do you fucking know how much trouble you just caused to the timeline last week when you dealt with that redhead girl. She started her period and it caused a whole lot of issues. Now, I am going to drunk blackout drunk and you can clean up the mess, and here is my staff to deal with the time gates.
