Offhand, i can't say i can recall anything like that. My guess would be due to her association with Konatsu and the way her "style" is very much a "hidden/camouflaged" one, that it becomes an easy assumption/connection.

There is no canonical connection of the Kunoji school to ninjitsu in either anime or manga canon. It's a bit of fanon that mostly has its roots in the fact that it makes a certain amount of logical sense; ninja were assassins who used the appearance of being random unremarkable civilians armed with everyday tools to get close and kill their quarry. Well, a cook who can turn cooking ingredients and tools into deadly weapons makes a pretty damn effective assassin.
