Sailor Moon new anime predictions

With the new anime coming next summer, why not guess wildly about it?

Ok, since the interviews said that the biggest enemy is the first time around, I'm guessing that it'll be closer to the manga. Also, with a bigger budget, less stock footage.

I'm also guessing it'll be a bit whackier visually, with more over the top anime visuals like giant heads and reactions.

What about YOU? what do you think will happen?

I'm not going to hold my breath. Since the original anime and manga were pretty much worked on independently when all was said and done, and the prequel (Sailor V) didn't finish before Sailor Moon was serialized, I wouldn't be surprised if they re-imagined the whole plot but kept enough names and appearances the same to maintain some familiarity.

Perhaps, but I doubt there will be as many episodes or filler.

What's really interesting is shat the US version will do when it comes to Haruka, Michiru and the starlights...

That will likely depend on who gets the rights to publish it in English, as well as what demographic it will be aimed at (by Western standards).

I hope it's done right. Stupid bad censoring...

I wonder if they would keep the names or not.

I've read on the internet (a reliable source, I'm sure) that Takeuchi has confirmed that Haruka and Michiru are indeed lovers -- but that she was annoyed by the Starlights' gender issues. They were supposed to be full-time females, but the anime crew didn't do it that way. Haruka and Michiru are going to be a problem if done faithfully. The Starlights are only a problem if done per anime rather than per manga.

Except, of course, for "Star Gentle Uterus". That needs a rework.

The other Senshi need more airtime: I mean seriously, have them finishing off the MOTD once in a while, instead of having to rely on Usagi every single time!

WILL it be a monster of the week type anime? They could streamline it so that it has a much more direct story.

You know, like what Kai did to dragonball. Remove the filler cuz it isn't needed.

Yeah. If faithful to manga, the Inners will be one-shot-one-kill pwning the generals.
Also there'll be horribly mutilated bodies around, children burned alive, tons of dead civilians -- that kind of stuff. I've tried to write a R/SM cross once, faithful to both mangas, and it was turning out grimdark. Let's wait and see.

I guess that it will be darker than the first one.

More for those who grew up with it now older, Toy Story 3 like.

Due to more faithful translations, I'm guessing honorifics will be kept. Like modern anime do.

I'd probably watch it for two reasons:

1) It's been AGES since I watched the original
2) It's still the first anime I stumbled across that I watched in japanese with english subs - Nostalgia :)

When will the dub come out? I ask because its easier for me to watch dub. Plus, I'm interested in what their views will be compared to 20 years ago what with the Supreme Court rulings and all.
