Temple of Ranma's Sailor Senshi Seifuku

I was just reflecting on the new rules for the Oscars, and remembered how both DiC and Cloverway attempted to remove references to homosexuality.
The whole thing with making "Amara" and "Michelle" cousins, but also hilariously made them into "kissing cousins" especially comes to mind. However the gender-change for Zoicite was also interesting.

Would either company attempt to remove the homosexuality today?
However I don't want to debate the merits of the rules, just how they would have affected making the dub today.

I always found it funny that they could have been from Alabama though for those pair of scouts which would explain it all though.
