The kind of voice and voice control about 99% of singers WISH they had. :D

Absolute madness! And you can´t let it stay, when it never died or got buried in the first place!

And a few not in English:

Ooh, far too long since i heard Pugacheva, (quickly starts up save2PC). :P
Such a complex text and she sings it perfectly, even in live performances...

Fischer-Chöre: «Schwarzwaldfahrt»

Cute train. What a surprise, a steam engine in a vid from you... :D

Monica Zetterlund: ”Sakta vi gå genom stan”

Classic. And a nice video. Before 1967, early 60s perhaps?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dagen_H

Vikingarna: ”Till mitt eget Blue Hawaii”

Ack, danceband of the persistent kind...

Bert Kaempfert: “A Swinging Safari”

Huh, so that´s the actual name... The tune was used for many years for a TV game show here.

And before I first found it on YT, I had heard it exactly once, years and decades ago.

(Fischer-Chöre) Cute train. What a surprise, a steam engine in a vid from you... :D

Hey! It’s a cute one! But, yeah, I’m more likely to sneak in a railbus. Or an invisible helicopter.

(Monica Zetterlund) Classic. And a nice video. Before 1967, early 60s perhaps?

Before H-day, certainly, as that was when the central tram network was shut down, as per the Wikipedia.

(Vikingarna) Ack, danceband of the persistent kind...

Yep, one of those ‘remember Jan & Kjeld’ types.

(Bert kaempfert) Huh, so that´s the actual name... The tune was used for many years for a TV game show here.

I have a Bert Kaempfert cassette where it’s listed as “The Happy Feeling“ which is a totally different tune.

Wow, she was actually quite popular here in the 80s and 90s. She was also sort of the unofficial international representative of the Soviet pop music scene in the 80s, somewhat to the Soviet leadership´s woe, as she was a bit too frank, honest and outspoken for their preferences.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alla_Pugacheva
During the 1980s, Pugacheva was a frequent visitor to Stockholm. She started out with multiple guest appearances on the popular Swedish radio show Galaxen (April 1980 year) conducted by Jacob Dahlin, and later frequently appeared on his TV-show Jacobs Stege (Jacob's Ladder). Dahlin and Pugacheva used to perform duets, such as "Superman" where Dahlin sings as the title character. In Stockholm, Pugacheva recorded an album in English, released by the World Record Music label in Sweden as Watch Out and by the Melodiya label in the Soviet Union as Alla Pugacheva in Stockholm.

Hmm, i wonder... Nah, can´t find any of the really good clips with her and Dahlin, pity, they did a few fun singing acts together. There seems to be just an interview or two of his with her, he spoke good Russian and had a good sense of humor so his way of asking and then adding translations is rather amusing.

Ah, slightly different search found at least a few acts more:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RbE-yuY4jlY
https://youtu.be/IMwiy79iyTQ?t=52s "superman" this one she also did as a duet with Dahlin, really good.

Emilíana Torrini:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VVwKYLl8m_o — Lay Down
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pQjbYxI8xY4 — Ruby Tuesday
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cwFt8SJaG4c — The Sound Of Silence
All of these covers come from Jim Cartwright’s musical play “Stone Free”. Nineteen years on, and I still slip the disc in the player now and then.

Incidentally, http://www.icelandicmusic.com/Music/Album/2270/ur_songleik/stone_free/ is probably the easiest way to obtain the album.

Two more with Emilíana Torrini:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HIMS3S8bK08 — “I (all about me)“ which is a Pizzicato Five tune.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iZ9vkd7Rp-g — “Jungle Drum”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n7ELnTIhosc — „SOS, Herz in Not“ with Michael Holm
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5fG5DSvfgBU — An Icelandic cover: „SOS, ást í neyð“

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NMesgdXa674 — This one is known here as „Bjórkjallarinn“ (“The Beer Cellar”).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lks949ZdmDs — In German it is known as „Im tiefen Keller sitz’ ich hier“.

Edit:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-mkgdh43wfE — Eddie Skoller: “What Did You Learn In School Today?”
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5EWVxT4yPp0 — Different lyrics from above.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wXxXDhpLeMs — Take an old French madrigal (Bonjour, mon cœur), give it a bit of the ol’ Extreme Makeover, and you get… this.

Clips featuring the late (and much missed) Rúnar Júlíusson:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=foEWnpcu15w — Kaupmaðurinn á horninu (The Corner Dealer)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pa1D9EpvSB0 — Fräulein
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xBIio36Cj5s — Fyrsti kossinn (The First Kiss)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yDRTHAd6ZJM — Æsandi fögur (Exciting beauty) (cover of “Little by Little”)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=abfLeaUrneI — I first heard “It Takes People Like You” performed by Rúnar Júl. Since then I have thought that everyone else sings it much too fast. This is largely how Rúnar sang it, though with a different singer.
