Heh. I used the Tandberg quite often for FM DXing. Of course, in a mountainus landscape, the next fjord can count as DX. Anyway, I would tune the set to a normally-inaudible station and listen for meteor 'pings'. IIRC, I used a relay station on the south coast.
Incidenally, where I now live, I get reliable reception from three non-local sites: The two closest communities to the south-west, and the regional site. Not only that, but one of the local transmitters is so weak (and just outright sick, to boot), that I get a stronger signal from the Channel One regional.
