I always did wonder why Billy Batson didn't just become Captain Marvel and stay that way. The same wonder applies to all transforming heroes.

I always thought it was out of a need to hold on to some part of their "normal" life where they aren't all powerful. That excuse kinda works for both Usagi and Billy. Plus he might just love screaming Shazam.
