It will, it will. Even reading the first chapter hints of that, and the continuation delivers. Remember, one of the prime uses of fanfiction is to Fix Things Up. Worm (the Original) is terrible and horrible and nasty, I'm told -- I haven't read it, no fool I -- but I've found many cheerful stories built upon it:

Taylor Varga is the most fun -- in two definitions of "most". One of the "mosts" is the word count, which currently stands at 2,058,592.
It Gets Worse sounds ominous, but it's a series of pratfalls by just the right people.
And Constellations manages to be that most improbable of beasts, a serene Worm story.

If you insist upon a fukufic, read the setup Aftermath (the setup) first, then dig into the main story, Desperately Seeking Ranma. There are side stories, some of them useful or informational, but you can read them whenever. It's a long read (1,426,632 words) and I have been cursed by a friend because it's long and he read it twice. He should complain, I read Taylor Varga twice.

Dreams can be odd.

Decades ago I dreamt I was somewhere outside with a small scanning radio receiver covering the beacon band, probably about a cigerette pack in size, if that much. Every time it found a beacon, it stopped for a short while, and an instrument needle swung and gave the bearing to the beacon.

I sometimes wonder if an ADF set this small could be built, even today.
