Retired basketball legend Bill Russell, known--among other things--for spearheading a run of eight straight NBA championships with the Boston Celtics from the late 50's through the mid-60's, passed away peacefully earlier today. He was 88. :cry:

I've been following the NBA since elementary school, so I had to take note of this one.
