(My guardian recently got full time hours again, but none of the benefits that go with it.)

((OOC: Can't say that I've noticed; I've had my job since before he took office. Anyway, it's not like the job had complex requirements when I applied for it: familiarity with Microsoft Word and Access, being able to type at least 70 WPM or thereabouts, and... that's pretty much it. In the time that the ad for it appeared in the local paper, I think I was the only one who applied. ()^_^

Accordingly, the pay's not impressive... just $8.50 an hour, but I'm happy with it for the time being.

Anyway, I just logged on to say the power's out down here. Dunno why I can go online, but I'll be signing off soon as I'm done.))

I cannot F****** believe the republicans of Nevada chose Heck to be the republican replacement for Reed. He's voted with Reed on just about everything. Why couldn't they have gone with Angle instead of giving us a lose lose situation.

Gotta always blame Obama for every little problem, huh? The issue with the job market is CLEARLY the fault of one man. :D

'Cause people like their figureheads. Secretly, though they will deny it, most people want monarchs and dictators. They want things easy, instead of going through the effort of looking at the bigger picture or delving into the depths of the machinations that are responsible for things being what they are. It's the same mentality that leads to false accusations and innocent people getting lynch-mobbed. Meanwhile, the real movers and shakers continue to go about their business as usual, one easily-replaceable scapegoat and/or puppet short.

All related problems in a democracy or republic can be traced back to the electorate. Always.

It was lose-lose before Reed. Keep up, slowpoke. :P

((Well when the executive orders act out quite clearly you want law abiding americans dead. But maybe I'm reading a bit into them. Then again the whole attempt to make it legal to use exploding drones on any citizen legally on a battle field then a couple months later trying to get all of America declared a battlefield 2 years ago... No exaggeration both of those are clearly documented. Boogie boogie boogie))

I fail to see how that proves that no one but Obama is responsible on any level. I'd think that people would be so accustomed to duplicitous behavior from the government that "what you see is what you get" wouldn't be the first logical conclusion, or even the second. The thing is, though, is that nothing like those things can be done by a president without enough support, be it from the judicial, legislative, or executive branches, the electorate, the entities tied to all of those things (lobbyists, parties, ideologies, corporations, et cetera), or some combination of those things (which is often the case). For a single person in Obama's position, at the very least there is assistance, complicity and/or coercion somewhere, to some degree, and that's before taking the electorate into account. The electorate should have the ability to rectify the government's wrongdoings, yet they don't. And if you think the government or any other entity, be they separate or in collusion, is responsible for taking away that ability, it's only because the electorate failed to keep it.

We have no one to blame for what the government does other than ourselves. When a president makes an executive order, and we — as in, American citizens in general — allow it to take effect, we might as well have written it ourselves.

((Old adage, evil mostly wins when good people do nothing. There has been allllllllloooooooot of people doing nothing the last decade or so. But really there is more blame that can be passed beyond the executive office. Its just easier to say one name at the head of the administration that officially has the leadership where the problems are happening than listing all the names on each of the things contributing to the problem. Never said I wasn't lazy.))

Well, even a lazy person can do better. Presidents are swapped out every four or eight years, so it'd make sense to target an entity that has been established longer, and/or isn't mandated to change after a certain amount of time. The justices, for instance. Major parties, like Democrat and Republican. Political philosophies, like conservatism and liberalism. Lobbyists, and the special interest groups or corporations they represent.
