Just sharing my opinion, Then again I am someone who goes out of their way to find digital transfers instead of remasters on TV shows and movies on DVD because they are less messed with. Its not like it changes the stories beyond pacing and visuals. But well visuals are part. Its like if you went to the Louvre and found they added a hologram screen you could wheel in front of the Mona Lisa to see her with any other kind of smile you want. Sure its cute but if you have access to that do you think of the hologram or the amazing original painting people have enjoyed for over a century?

I was hoping you would remember the original version of the painting too but that is kinda my point.

*weak chuckle* I'm the wrong person to ask about that. Shenanigans like that were common in the Infinite Defense while I was still an active officer. Curtis knows what the original looks like, obviously, but I've long since forgotten.

Ran out of yellow ink trying to print a copy of the original just now. Really like the picture but you'd be amazed how nice it still looks printed with only the red blue and black inks.

little lisa.jpg
Resized to <7% Mona Lisa
Had to shut down all other software on my computer, Even with my recent memory upgrade, to resize it small enough to post. Wikipedia had a ridiculously large scan of the original in the Louvre.

Not unusual for a wealthy patron's portrait at that time

True, but imagining that size on a computer is insane.

There are LCD HD screens for special use like in high end camcorder optics with a high enough DPI to show that graphic in actual size that full resolution.

The size of an image in inches or centimeters is unimportant. What size was it in pixels, and what was the color depth? That's what the computers have to struggle with. For that matter, Wikipedia's computer has already done the struggling. If you click on "More Details" you will find the image available in many resolutions, from 161 x 240 pixels to 7479 x 11,146 pixels with five more resolutions in between.

(Guess who's been using Wikimedia Commons lately.)

I know and I put the burden on my own system going for the full native rez instead of a smaller resolution scale. Still it made for a great print.

May as well mention this here, since Curtis won't shut up about it. I know he's excited about it---I'm excited about it---but it's starting to get a little annoying.

Anyway, he commissioned artwork of me from someone on DA. At least now you have a face to associate with all that red text you've been seeing up in the Song of the Week thread recently, eh?
