Well... even if so, then you can just reinterpret it to be "Have a nice day"

There's plenty to celebrate. We have Yule, Christmas, and New Year contained in less than two weeks. For the less mainstream there is Festivus, if you're up to it, plus Kwanzaa, and Hanukkah if the 25th of Kislev cooperates. (Lunar calendars don't always play nice with solar calendars; and we don't even want to think of what the Mayan calendar is doing.)

This year, New Year is the one to look at optimistically. Perhaps 2020 will look better in the rear-view mirror.

I never tried boxing - I was better at fencing, and no punching in the face was allowed.

Merry christmas, God Jul, Hyvää joula, Gledileg jol, etc.

There's plenty to celebrate. We have Yule, Christmas, and New Year contained in less than two weeks.

You forget that christmas all by itself is longer than 2 weeks, it is in fact 3 weeks. 24th December to 13th January. :)
So, not over yet by far!

Even if far too many nowadays seem to have forgotten this(how?!?). No idea why, just seems like people are trying to rush through and compress it down to less than 1 week and get stressed out for no good reason instead.

and we don't even want to think of what the Mayan calendar is doing

Eh, it's probably up to something naughty the little scoundrel!

I kinda agree with cartoonist Jonas Darnell's christmas cards:

If you're going to be that way, don't forget Advent. There are whole calendars just for Advent.

Sure, but Advent's not part of christmas/yule.

And i'm suuuuper aware, public TV here has a tradition of making a "calendar" TV-series every year that run every day 1st to 24th December since 1960(and public radio does one as well since 1957). That they also made paper calendars for, great concept.
So, yeah. Kinda noticed.
Especially those that were really good and while i was a kid, which included the one this year which played around with timetravel through bodyswitching and was really well done. :P

I try to be careful with the (*) cards. I know Christians, Jews, Wiccans, agnostics, atheists, and Spiderists. I'm not sure who is in each of these categories, except for the Spiderists. Totally bland cards aren't fun, either. This has been a good time for "Happy New Year", as everybody is thinking 2020 will look better in the rear-view mirror. Stop and think. When 20 turns to 21, the year will be old enough to drink ...
