Let's not forget Awkward Consequences. Very in-character for Hotaru, especially if you're fond of the "damaged sense of self-worth being built up over time" motif. Hotaru once bitterly describes herself as "the Death Star in a mini-skirt." Pure gold.

Awkward Consequences is pretty good. I'm not a fan of angst-themed fics like these normally, but the author handled it well enough that I could suffer through it. The emotional turmoil gets a little out of control at points, but there's never that 'everything's completely hopeless' or 'this will drag on forever' feeling that will make me quit such a fic. Too bad it is abandoned at the point when most of the angst has been dealt with.
