In the anime Helios's horn turned out to be the gold crystal, and Helios/Pegasus was being held by Nefilainia in Helios/Pegasus's dimension.Seraphim wrote:Ah no. It was always inside him, it's just nobody (including Helios who up to SuperS was the only one who knew it existed) knew where exactly it was.
IIRC, wasn't it Usagi who suggested that might be inside him like the Ginzuishou was/is inside her?

In the anime it is shown/implied that Mamoru draws power from the Gold crystal to power himself. It is also shown/implied that Elysian is the source of the roses he throws. The golden crystal in season 4 draws power from beautiful dreams it seems to me. Elysian was literally a dream world in the anime.stratagemini wrote:The Anime isn't canon, it's a lot less well explored. In the Manga Helios' horn wasn't anything. and there was some weird thing where Helios and Mamoru shared the same soul. It was rather strange and confusing, but essentially, their health is linked, and it's also linked to the health of the Earth and Elysian.
I don't understand why people say he is weak in the anime? Tuxy has many unnamed attacks in the anime that appear to be equeal or greater in power then the senshi, and he is about as go if not better in close combat as as Uranus and Jupiter. His biggest reason for losing IMO is Usagi. He often has to throw himself in front of attacks to protect her because she suddenly loses all combat ability for reasons that don't always make sense..stratagemini wrote:Tuxboy is pretty powerful in the Manga actually, even before he gets the golden crystal he's empathic, can heal with a touch like Hotaru can, and has actual attacks and a fair amount of skill with his cane. Tux boy only has 3 real attacks though, one is Tuxedo La Smoking Bomber, another is "Pink Sugar Tuxedo Attack" and the last is an unnamed attack where he helps sailor moon power her attack up to ridiculous levels. Tux Boy isn't a frontline fighter, he's at best support. But that said he's pretty damned powerful for a support character. We don't actually get to see him use the Golden crystal except against Neherenia one time in a combination attack with Moon, after that the next time you see Mamoru he's being killed off by a surprise attack on his civilian form.
Still, Given the evidence it's my opinion taht Mamoru is probably as powerful as Usagi is when he uses his golden crystal, though it would probably be used differently from Usagi given the support nature of his character.

One reason he is not fighting with the senshi is it seems they have no way to just call him like they can each other it seems. The senshi never seem to have gotten him a communicator. Is it his falt no one seems to tell him when and where the battles are taking place?lwf58 wrote: It's because other than the occasional cane-versus-sword duels he got into with the Dark Generals, the only time he ever got to really be effective in the anime was when he was a bad guy under Beryl's mindwashing. In the anime he has healing powers. They are most noticeable in season 4. He also can sense when Usagi is in danger. This is how he all to often finds the fights, and why he shows up late.lwf58 wrote:In the manga, he starts out as a cheerleader, but even he thinks he's useless. In reality, he had psychometry and healing powers, so while not a front-line fighter, he was useful as support. He eventually did get a powerful attack in the TLSB, and eventually when he got the gold crystal, his power became second only to Usagi's. Stratagemini's comments point out another aspect to him in the manga that didn't exist in the anime: he was crucial to several of Usagi's powerups. She couldn't have achieved at least two of her advanced levels without his presence and cooperation, because both the gold and silver crystals were necessary.
In the anime, it's almost as if his only job is to provide morale support and be a sperm donor so that Chibi-Usa can exist.
